The Origin of Guangyuan Daughter's Day

Guangyuan Daughter's Day is a cultural tourism festival to commemorate Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in China history.

In order to commemorate Wu Zetian, who was born in Guangyuan, Guangyuan has the custom of "women swimming in the river on the 23rd day of the first month", and a grand celebration is held every year for Wu Zetian's birthday. 1988, Guangyuan city decided to designate September 1 day as "Daughter's Day" every year.
