The origin and custom of the wine festival
According to legend, Mu Lian's mother has always been arrogant. After her death, her soul was punished for not eating, and all the meals sent by Manglietia were eaten by ghosts. It was not until the ugly "nine porridge" that her mother got a meal. The custom of Aojiu Festival is to cook sweet porridge with glutinous rice, brown sugar, peanuts, red dates, sesame seeds, longan and other raw materials to worship ancestors or give gifts to relatives and friends.
The Tradition and Implication of the Wine Festival
The 29th day of the first lunar month is a traditional folk festival in Fuzhou and Fuqing.
Aojiu Festival has become a social fashion of respecting the elderly and advocating filial piety, and it has been carried forward in Fuzhou.
