Four major Buddhist festivals in Tibetan calendar
The Buddha Light Festival, also known as the "Bathing Buddha Festival", is a festival to commemorate the birth of Buddha Sakyamuni and one of the biggest festivals in Buddhism. In Han areas, the eighth day of the fourth lunar month is usually considered as the birthday of the Buddha. On this day, Buddhist monasteries usually hold a "Bathing Buddha Dharma Meeting", and hold a chanting ceremony to worship Buddha and ancestors and other religious activities.
In the Dai and Bulang ethnic minority areas in the southwest of China, the activities of celebrating Buddha's birthday are combined with the traditional custom of splashing water on each other, forming the "Water Splashing Festival".

July 15: Bonsai Club
Bonsai is also one of the biggest festivals in Buddhism, and it is a ritual meeting held on July 15th of the lunar calendar every year to honor ancestors. Orchid Club is based on the Buddhist Sutra of Orchid Club translated by Zhu Fahu in the Western Jin Dynasty. In the fourth year of Liang Datong in the Southern Dynasty (538), Liang Wudi established the Yulan Benzhai in Tongtai Temple, which was the earliest Yulan Benzhai in the Han Dynasty.
Sakyamuni Buddha Enlightenment Day
Buddha's Birthday is a day to commemorate Sakyamuni's enlightenment and become a Buddha under Kuti tree. China Han Buddhism generally takes the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month as the day when the Buddha became a monk. Buddhists in China provide rice and fruit porridge to the Buddha on the day of enlightenment, which is called "Laba porridge". Later, it spread in the society and became a folk custom.
December is the "twelfth month" in the summer calendar, so December 8 is called "Laba". In the Han area of China, this day is regarded as Sakyamuni's Day of Enlightenment, so Laba became a Buddhist festival. "Baizhang Qinggui" said: "On the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month, our teacher, Great Monk Nigumei, became a monk and led the monks to prepare incense lanterns, candles and tea fruits to apply for support." On this day, the temple held chanting, and imitated the story of the legendary shepherdess offering chyle before the Buddha became a monk, and made porridge for the Buddha with torreya grandis and fruit, named "Laba porridge". As early as the Song Dynasty, on the eighth day of December, Qibao Wuwei porridge, or "Laba porridge", was sent to major monasteries in Kaifeng, Tokyo. According to Meng Yuan's Dream in Tokyo, on the eighth day of December, monasteries sent seven treasures and five flavors porridge to their disciples, which was called Laba porridge, also known as Buddha porridge. Lu You, a great poet in the Song Dynasty, said in his poem: "Today, Buddha and porridge complement each other, thinking that there are new things in Jiangcun." It's also about Laba sending porridge.
On February 19th of the lunar calendar, Guanyin Bodhisattva celebrated Christmas.
Guanyin Bodhisattva, whose real name is Guanyin Bodhisattva, is transliterated in Sanskrit as "Grandma Lou Ji Lola" or "Grandma Lou Ji Lola Lola". Together with Manjusri, Pu Xian and Tibetan Bodhisattvas in China Han temples, they are called the Four Great Bodhisattvas. Guanyin Bodhisattva is a popular bodhisattva among the people, Buddhism and Taoism. Because preaching Guanyin Bodhisattva is to save the suffering, reciting its name will help you. Because there are a lot of folk stories circulating among the people, they are highly respected! Now regardless of the temple, the small temple will hold a blessing ceremony on February 19 th of the lunar calendar!
