Dick's core teaching (9)-deny everything and you will see the best.

The interpretation in the last paragraph of this article is short, but rich in connotation, which summarizes the full text and can be described as "the core of the core".

"Complete negation is the essence of affirmation" seems contradictory, but when you think about it, it is actually a dialectical unity of the two contradictory concepts of "negation" and "affirmation", which is very philosophical. Let's see the meaning of this sentence.

Speaking of negation, a word comes to mind-"bi", which was originally pronounced as (du‖), but in recent years, it has been alienated into (duǐ) by netizens according to Henan dialect. No matter how it is pronounced, the word seems to express "negation" more vividly. Speaking of people, the most advanced form is the debate. Debate competitions usually revolve around a certain theme, and the pros and cons argue with each other, and finally the judges comment and score. Every time I see the contestants struggling passionately, I am deeply attracted by their eloquence and quick thinking.

It seems that negation is used as a means to attack each other and then establish their own views and opinions. Sometimes even for the purpose of directly attacking each other, denying for the sake of denying, in order to show their sense of existence or superiority. But the "negation" in this sentence is neither to establish any views nor to attack someone, but to deny all views in the psychological world. Attention, everything, nothing is lacking.

It is not difficult to see that the usual "negation" is carried out around opinions, and sometimes it is also carried out around "facts". In denying facts, science is the most professional and thorough, because from the day it was born, it took being falsified as its most important label. Because of this, countless scientists have devoted their lives to this, constantly discovering new problems, correcting the mistakes of predecessors, and making science have vigorous vitality. However, the "negation" in this sentence is neither a denial of a specific fact nor a denial of the spirit of doubt in the field of science, but a denial of the inherent limitations of science.

With the deepening of scientific research, the classification of disciplines is becoming more and more detailed. There are more than 300 disciplines in undergraduate education alone, not to mention research fields. It can be seen that there are obvious boundaries and exclusive research scope between disciplines, which is conducive to further research, but it is inevitable to establish barriers between disciplines, and the scientific community also has a * * * understanding of this. Limitations make it difficult to study many disciplines, so many interdisciplinary disciplines are gradually derived.

If science has limitations, can philosophy called "scientific science" break through this limitation? In fact, in a strict sense, philosophy itself is also a science, but the research object of philosophy is more abstract, extracting the characteristics of various disciplines, taking thinking, cognition and consciousness as the research objectives, and trying to guide and lead other disciplines by answering philosophical questions. Obviously, philosophy is also within the scope of this paper's negation.

Philosophy has developed for thousands of years, and many schools of thought have emerged. For example, thinking and existence, consciousness and matter, there is always a debate about who is the first, and finally there are two camps of materialism and idealism; Although there are * * * kinds of ideas about their identity, there have always been two schools of thought: knowability and agnosticism. No matter which school, it is based on logic. Like science, they only rely on inductive and deductive thinking modes. Then, the limitations of philosophy are obvious.

On the one hand, the limitations of science and philosophy come from the lack of knowledge mastered by the mind, on the other hand, from the innate limitations of the thinking mode of the mind. So, isn't the human mind useless? In fact, this is not to deny the mind itself, but to deny the single thinking mode dominated by the mind. When relying solely on the brain for logical reasoning or judgment, it becomes the only credible factor, shielding the information generated by other senses, but the materials called by the brain are abstract and fragmented, without any integrity and authenticity, so the conclusion cannot be correct and comprehensive.

If the different disciplines of science are compared to the dining table? A series of delicious food, then philosophy is like a table bearing these delicious food. Denying science is like commenting on every dish and pointing out the defects in the cooking process, so denying philosophy is to lift the table.

Then, some readers will continue to ask, if science and philosophy are denied, then "theology" that can solve all problems should have a foothold? On the contrary. Theology, including various religions, is also on the negative list, because almost all religions are based on "faith". Before we really see the facts, "belief" is a theory, an idea and a method, which has nothing to do with the facts.

In our hearts, whether there is an omnipotent "God" or "God" or an irrefutable "belief" or "principle", these are the seeds sown by religion, and people have to trust it completely without doubt. "Faith" has become the * * * nature and background color of all religions, forming a natural pair with "negation".

It denies the viewpoint, the limitations of science and philosophy, and the blind obedience to religion. To do this, we have not reached the "complete negation" in this sentence, including not only the above contents, but also all the ideological contents such as memories, experiences and methods that have entered the psychological level, so that they will no longer interfere with the process of observing things, nor distort the facts, and then completely disappear from the mind and go up in smoke.

"Total negation" is not only the core of the whole article, but also echoes the first paragraph of this article, that is, "man cannot achieve it through any organization, any belief, any doctrine, priest or ceremony, any philosophical knowledge or psychological skills." In a word: deny everything, only break it.

Speaking of breaking without standing, there is a famous commentator in the history of Buddhism-Dragon Tree Bodhisattva, who has promoted Mahayana Buddhism and Prajna Buddhism all his life. It is said that he touched all those who listened to Buddhism with his profound awareness and superb eloquence, and realized emptiness, but he never mentioned any description of the truth until Nirvana. He is recognized as the first great Buddhist critic in the history of Buddhism. He wrote a large number of Buddhist scriptures in his life, the most famous of which was Zhonglun, which had a far-reaching influence on Mahayana Buddhism in China. Eight schools in the history of Buddhism in China revered him as the founder, and once expressed their admiration with the reputation of "a sage with insight".

In the preface, Zhong Lun summed up his core idea, that is, "neither birth nor death, neither change nor difference, nor entry nor exit", also known as "eight-step gathering". He criticized people's misunderstanding and explanation of Buddhism, and thought that life and death, law and irregularity, one and difference, and coming and going should not be persistent, all of which were "play theory", so they were all rejected. In a word, everything we can perceive is false, but its essence is emptiness. Ordinary people often cling to the phase and ignore the nature. Therefore, we must face it with a correct "middle view" attitude in order to prove the truth.

It is a bit like the Heart Sutra translated by Master Xuanzang, which is both the Prajna Sutra. It only uses 260 words, including nearly 50 negative words, such as "empty", "nothing" and "nothing". On average, there is one negative word every five words, which almost completely expounds the essence of Prajna Buddhism in the form of negation, and there is no "standing" throughout. It can be seen that "Zhong Lun" and "Heart Sutra" come down in one continuous line, both of which are aimed at getting rid of "clinging" and witnessing the true meaning.

Look at Taoism, which is one of the cores of China's traditional culture. Its important classic "Tao Te Ching" is only over 5,000 words, and as many as 300 negative phrases are used. Its content covers many aspects, such as self-cultivation, governing the country, being born, joining the WTO and so on. The negative expression throughout can be seen everywhere, which finally determines the core idea and principle of "governing by doing nothing" in Taoism, which makes Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, have to admire: "governing by doing nothing."

Negation is also very common in the western philosophy system, and it can even be said that its development history is a history of constantly denying predecessors. Before Socrates, the founder of western philosophy, people simply took nature as the research object and thought that "people can know nature as long as they know it", which is beyond doubt and reasonable. However, Socrates re-examined this issue and brought the issue of "knowing oneself" into the category of philosophy, thus realizing the transformation of philosophy from simply knowing objective laws to knowing human beings themselves.

As for the objective problems, everyone thought that there was no doubt, until gorgias, a magical wise man, appeared in ancient Greece. The philosopher's average life expectancy is less than 30 years old, but he lived 100 years old, which is absolutely a miracle. Gorgias put forward and demonstrated three famous philosophical propositions about ontology, namely: (1) nothing; (2) Even if something exists, we can't know it; (3) Even if something exists, we can know it, and it is impossible for us to convey this knowledge to others.

The three negative propositions put forward by gorgias have gradually evolved into three major research fields of western philosophy, namely ontology, epistemology and philosophy of language. Later, western philosophers called this mode of thinking skepticism. Descartes, the "father of modern western philosophy", laid a foundation for modern western philosophy by virtue of universal skepticism, that is, he transferred metaphysics from the study of objects in ancient Greek philosophy to the subject. Therefore, this skepticism is rational and a necessary means to study the nature of things. In this sense, if there is no doubt, doubt and negation, it is impossible to produce modern philosophy, and without doubt, rationality cannot become real rationality.

If you understand negation, what does "complete negation" mean in this sentence? In fact, it is more thorough than all kinds of negations mentioned before. It denies the whole ideological field, all thoughts that enter the psychological world, including opinions, concepts, concepts, methods, memories and experiences, as well as psychological knowledge, religious and philosophical views ... that is, all those things with the "self" mark.

"Total negation" makes the ideological content at the psychological level completely exposed and there is nowhere to hide. In the end, you can only reveal the illusory nature, surrender and stop activities. In the psychological field, as long as the subjectivity, sense of existence and superiority of "self" still exist, it means that it has not been completely denied, that is to say, denial is incomplete and can continue to be denied until it disappears completely.

Then the next sentence, "complete negation is the essence of affirmation." How to understand it? Literally, it is easy to think that if we deny all the mistakes, we will leave something right. Just like doing multiple-choice questions in an exam, excluding all wrong options, the rest must be the correct answer. If you understand it this way, it means that you are still trapped in the inertia of your logical thinking.

The "affirmation" here is not to establish a certain viewpoint or conclusion, because the previous "negation" is not aimed at this viewpoint or conclusion, but to deny the whole field of consciousness. After seeing the illusion in the field of consciousness clearly, it was removed. Then, the following "affirmation" must also be a kind of correctness that transcends the ideological field. What is this? It is obviously an unspeakable truth.

Therefore, the "affirmation" here is not to establish a certain point of view or conclusion in the usual sense, but to enter a state or realm, in which you can perceive and see the truth at any time without being disturbed by ideas, and then you can take correct actions to deal with the changes in the external environment.

In short, whether it is "complete negation" or "affirmation", it exists beyond the ideological level, and it is based on the observation and understanding of facts, seeing the truth of "self" in the psychological world, and at the same time seeing its illusory nature, and clearing "self", which is the most thorough negation. At the moment, the ideological level or language is just a form. Without the participation of thoughts, seemingly positive expression will also have a negative taste. On the contrary, all negative expressions will naturally present the right things.

The last sentence of the article "only at this time will there be love, that is, compassion and wisdom." ? After denying all psychological thoughts, love, compassion and wisdom naturally appear. Why put these three together? What is their relationship? In fact, when thoughts fade, love, compassion and wisdom are the same thing, or the same state. They are the same as the freedom and truth mentioned in the article. They are all beyond the comprehension and touch of thought and can never be expressed in words.

We use the word "love" the most. We usually say, I love someone, I think of him in everything, I do my best for him, and I don't ask for anything in return ... Typical examples are between parents and children, between relatives and close friends. Compassion seems to have a larger scope than love, which can extend the love for the people closest to you to all people, and extend the love for people to animals, nature and all life in the world ..... Just like Buddhism says, "Without compassion, the same body is sad".

The word "wisdom" not only means that a person is clear-headed, quick-thinking, knowledgeable and able to judge things accurately, but also includes that they often have strong communication and emotional abilities, are unusually sensitive to people, things and things, and can insight into the essence of things and make correct decisions quickly. Getting along with smart people will bring you a pleasant, comfortable and natural experience.

However, according to the above understanding, "love and mercy" cannot be equated with "wisdom" in any case. The former is more inclined to a person's personality and pattern, while the latter is more inclined to a person's ability, each with its own emphasis, which is not at all a level. Obviously, these three words mentioned in this article have the same meaning as everyone's daily understanding. What is the difference?

No matter how great it is depicted, in the ordinary sense of love and mercy, there are separate subjects and objects, such as "I" love you, "I" love animals, "I" love nature, and "I" cherish compassion ... The existence of subjects and objects means that the subjective consciousness of "I, him, you and me" remains at the psychological level. Once the "self" appears, it will naturally occupy an extremely important position, start to identify and judge all kinds of people and things, and then dominate the behavior, which changes the taste of true "love" and "compassion" and enters another track.

As long as the ego still exists, due to its special status, the beloved object will be involuntarily regarded as its own, brought into the category of the ego, controlled by the ego, and then evolved into a desire and goal. Just as parents love their children, they all love unconditionally, hoping that they will be happy without any return, but there is one premise, that is, their children, because they cannot love other people's children equally. This shows that their so-called love for their children is essentially their love for themselves. The so-called secret love is only an appearance. In the process of "love", they are always satisfied with themselves.

It can be seen that as long as the "self" has not completely disappeared, individuality, subjectivity and sense of belonging still exist, then all the words of praise to the individual are gorgeous coats put on by thoughts, but they can only be "the emperor's new clothes", just deceiving themselves.

Talk about wisdom. If we take this word apart to explain, wisdom refers to the ability of the mind and accumulated knowledge. Wisdom is the nature of the heart, which means clarity and transparency. The heart does not refer to the heart, but refers to all the senses and perceptual abilities of the human body. Obviously, wisdom here does not mean "wisdom", but "wisdom". Wisdom is inseparable from wisdom, but it is not limited to wisdom. True wisdom is to mobilize all the senses of the body to perceive the world, not just to think with the brain.

When we have true wisdom, it means that all body and mind are connected with the whole world, during which there is no obstacle or interference from thoughts. When the mind is inactive, the ego disappears, so there is no division and difference between "me, you, me and him". We see that human consciousness is a whole. In this way, people will no longer have the desire to judge, compare and control, where will there be resentment, jealousy and malicious harm? At this time, true love and sympathy naturally surfaced and appeared in their relationship.

Love, compassion and wisdom, like sunshine, shine everywhere, warm everyone and everything and amaze every moment.
