What are the national percussion instruments?
Octagonal drum, an ancient Manchu musical instrument for self-entertainment, is named after the drum body has eight angles, also known as single drum. The drum body is flat and small, and the drum surface is octagonal, representing the Eight Banners of the Qing Dynasty at that time. The drum frame is made of ebony, rosewood, mahogany, rosewood and bone pieces. It is said that each leader of the Eight Banners will take out the best piece of wood to inlay. Two or three small brass cymbals are embedded in each side of the seven-sided frame, and one side is embedded with nail columns to form drum ears, which means that the grain is abundant.

3. Gong Yun
Yunluo appeared in the Tang Dynasty and was very popular in the Yuan Dynasty. It was a percussion instrument used by Han, Tibetan, Mongolian, Manchu, Naxi, Bai and Yi nationalities. In ancient times, it was called Yunzhe, also known as Yunying, and the folks called Jiuyin Gong. Tibetans are called Ding Dong and Dingdong. It is an instrument that can play tunes among gong instruments. It is often used in folk music, local operas and temple music. It is popular in Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Tibet and the vast Han areas.
4. Bangzi
Bangzi, also called Bangzi, is a percussion instrument in China. In the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties in China (17th century), Bangzi opera became popular with its rise. Bangzi consists of two solid hard sticks with different lengths and thicknesses. One is cylindrical with a length of 25 cm and a diameter of 4 cm, and the other is rectangular with a length of 20, a width of 5-6 and a thickness of 4 cm. One of the four major vocal cavities of China traditional opera, it is named after playing festivals with hardwood bangzi.
In 2008, it was selected into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
5. Roller arrangement
Paigu is a new variety of drum musical instruments. Appeared in the early 1960s, it was reformed by Cai Huiquan and Yang Jingming, the Central Broadcasting National Orchestra, according to the medium-sized hall drums and waist drums commonly used by the people, and has been continuously improved since then. The drum arrangement consists of five drums with different sizes and sounds.
The drum height is 29-33.3 cm, the upper diameter is 16.7-37 cm, and the lower diameter is 1 1.7-37 cm. Each drum has the same outer diameter and different inner diameters on both sides, and can emit two different pitch sounds, so five drums have ten sounds. Paigu pronunciation jumps violently, the high notes are solid and powerful, and the bass is generous and loud, especially good at expressing warm and jubilant emotions.
