Western culture, today, some people attribute modern western culture only to scientific evidence, which is undoubtedly taken out of context and misdirected by some people as the whole of modern western culture. Its purpose is only to vilify the West to defend China's traditional culture.

What is culture? We might as well take Marxism as a reference. Although I have to admit that Marxism is criticized by many people today, the purpose of Marxism is to build an advanced cultural system. Its theory may be controversial, but it is basically a reference to the western cultural system, trying to create an advanced thing to replace its structural form. We might as well refer to its structure to understand western culture.

The basic components of Marxism are philosophy, political economy and scientific socialism. It is from thought to reality to social structure, which is a basic form of culture.

Let's start with philosophy. According to the definition of Marxism, it is a theoretical and systematic outlook on life, world outlook and methodology.

Of course, Marxism and philosophy are not universal popular philosophy but ruling philosophy, but it has no intention to clarify the structure of philosophy.

As a cultural thought, it must be the core of a nation, so its outlook on life, world outlook and methodology must be a popular philosophy acceptable to a nation. Therefore, Christianity and Catholicism are the basic philosophical thoughts of the West in both modern and ancient times. I don't rule out the emergence of new doctrines and ideas in the west, but no ideology can be used to replace Christianity and Catholicism and become the cultural foundation. Moreover, many theories also show the times, some of which are new but soon out of date, such as Marxism, which is out of date in the west. Of course, the traditional concept has also been challenged, but it has been constantly adjusted and adapted. But unlike Marxist philosophy, western philosophy only studies the outlook on life and the world, that is, the meaning of life, and the debate and research on whether there is a God, without involving methodology. But scientific argumentation is only a methodological category in the west, and it is by no means the whole of western culture. Scientific argumentation is in a subordinate position in the west. Of course, due to its particularity and reliability, its status is high, but it is definitely not the only core. As for the reality and social system, the west is advancing with the times, and we have to admit its leading position.

Traditional culture is the general name of sage culture such as Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, Yi and medicine. This definition throws out the Mohist culture in the pre-Qin period in China, and it is not intentional by today's feudal remnants. Sinology generally refers only to Confucianism, which is the beginning of ignorance.

Strictly speaking, China people have no real faith when they start over. What is faith? First of all, faith is lofty, and they look up to it. It is a belief that should be supreme in their hearts. In western beliefs, the core of their belief is supremacy, omnipotence and domination, and they must obey it and pay everything for it.

China's ancestor worship, although similar, is based on lofty expectations, but ancestors are not omnipotent, but also rely on geomantic omen, so their ability is limited. We have a model of twenty-four filial piety, and we can do anything for our ancestors, but there are too many defects in our theory compared with the west, which can be said to be the gap between feudal superstition and systematic religion

As for the true belief in China, it is actually pragmatism and egoism, and there is nothing sacred about it.
