Brief introduction of Huangshi inkstone
Huangshi inkstone, also known as Gexian Gongshi and Fangcheng Stone, is a traditional handicraft of Han nationality. It is named after Huangshi Mountain, which is produced in Yanshanpu Village, Dushu Town, Fangcheng County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. Huang Shishan, formerly known as Huang Shishan, was the place where Sean worshipped his teacher Huang Shigong in the Han Dynasty. It is one of the five famous inkstones in China, and is highly praised by painters Mi Fei and Huang Tingjian in the Northern Song Dynasty. During the period of 1990, Mr. Qi Gong, honorary chairman of China Calligraphers Association, spoke highly of Huangshi inkstone and wrote "China Huangshi inkstone" by himself. "The daughter of Yanshanpu doesn't spin flowers, but everyone can grind inkstone tiles", which shows the popularity of inkstone making at that time and the great influence of inkstone making culture on local humanities.
