Fishing of the Kinh people
Fishing is a traditional industry of the Kyong people. Among the various types of fisheries, the Kyung mainly engage in shallow sea trawling and miscellaneous fisheries. Fishing tools include pulling nets, plug nets, fishing foils, gill nets, as well as shark nets, southern shrimp nets, jellyfish nets, horseshoe crab nets, and ink nets, which are used for specialized fishing and hunting objects. As for digging sand worms, raking snails, digging mud ding, catching crabs and so on, are simpler small sea work.
Due to the differences in geographic conditions in different places, the types of work engaged in are also different. Manoi is mainly fishing with pull-nets, Sanshin is mainly fishing with fishing foils, and Wutou is fishing with fishing foils and stuffed nets. The variety of fishing gears and the division of labor have formed the unique fishing culture of the Kinh people. The people of the Jing have accumulated rich experience in fishery production in their long-term production practices. They are very familiar with the swimming pattern of all kinds of fish, and can accurately predict the rise and fall of the tide and the change of the sea climate, and arrange the production according to the "rise" and "fall" pattern of the tide. Pulling nets
Pulling nets come in different sizes. Large pulling the net 3 meters high, 400 meters long, the entire body of the net by 6 fabrics connected to the net, mesh small and dense. Small pulling the net by 4 fabric net composition, mesh large and sparse, net length of more than 330 meters, 2.3 meters high at both ends, 3.3 meters high in the middle, slightly into the peach leaf shape.
Operation, the former need thirty or forty people, the latter to twenty or thirty people. Operating procedures are: first explore the sea, observe the fish, choose the operating location;
The second, in the place where the fish found, rowing boats or rafts will slowly let go of the nets, by the beach side of the sea into a half-moon shaped encirclement;
The third, the net operator is divided into two groups, each holding the net outline of a head, the joint efforts to the beach shore pulling collection; Fourth, in the process of pulling and dragging, the two groups of people while pulling the side Xu Xu close together, until the net is full of fish. In this way, a net pulling operation is over. This kind of net pulling operation is one of the larger group-operated fishery production methods of the Jing people. It is open to both men and women and is not limited by the season.
Seine
Seine is also known as a gate net or congestion net, and is divided into two types: sparse and dense. The length and height of the net is comparable to that of the pulling net. However, the net is set on the beach at a fixed location. The operation is divided into three groups, and each group is specifically divided into "No. pile", "inserting piles", "hanging nets" (hanging nets on piles), "picking sand" (filling the foot of the net with sand) and "picking soil" (filling the foot of the net with sand). The process is divided into "numbering piles", "inserting piles", "hanging nets" (hanging the nets on the piles), "picking sand and soil" (filling the feet of the nets), etc. The setting of such stuffed nets is done in advance before the tide rises. When the tide rises, all kinds of fish and shrimp with the tide into the plug net circle, ebb tide, fish and shrimp will be fishing nets and sand surrounded by the beach surrounded by trapped, "caught". The difference between this kind of "plug net" and "pull net" is that the plug net focuses on the fixed "plug" and "plug", while the pull net focuses on the "plug" and "plug", while the pull net focuses on the "plug" and "plug". While the pulling net focuses on "pulling" and "closing", its operation has its own characteristics.
Fishing Foil
Fishing Foil is a funnel-shaped fishing tool, usually set up at the confluence of rising and falling tides and rapid water conditions. Each foil has a prescribed size distance. First about 2 meters high, more than 10 centimeters in diameter of the stakes surrounded by two rows, one head of the confluence with a wooden stake fixed, and then with a small bamboo sheet plaiting, knotted into a "fence" fence, surrounded by a high of about 3.5 meters in a circular fishing port (fish room). At low tide, with the flow of fish, shrimp and crab along the two rows of stakes swimming into the fishing harbor, you can net.
Shark fishing net
Shark fishing net is a deep-sea hunting sharks special gear. The net body is 400 meters long, 1.3 meters high, the mesh is thick, by the net line, net float (bamboo tube), net fall (lead iron or stone), net outline and other components. Down the net by four people on a raft to the shark activities of the deep sea area, the ends of the net and the middle of the foot to the heavy stone drop set in the sea. It is a thrilling and fun fishing operation that lasts for three or four days each time the net is lowered. In the fishing life of the Kyung ethnic group, the custom of "Yorai" is still practiced, which is called "a share for those who see it. "Yorai" means "to take advantage of" in Han Chinese. If you want to eat seafood, you can go to the fishing foil side of the tide or a fishing boat full of return, pick up some take away, the owner is not to blame.
In the long-term fishing life, the Jing people also formed some etiquette and taboo customs. Such as rice burnt, not to say "burnt", because "burnt" and "reef" homophonic, for fear of hitting the reef; in the boat will be "oil "said" as "slippery water", "slippery" that is, "smooth", "smooth" meaning. The meaning of the word is "smooth" and "obedient". Every time the Jing men go out to sea, the old man, women and children have to go to the beach to see off, and hold some sea worship activities.
