Zhanjiang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau also pays attention to quality from the source of production, actively guides canned pineapple processing enterprises to promote the modern agricultural production management mode of "company+base+standardization", provides technical guidance on pest control and pesticide residue detection during pineapple planting, and strengthens the supervision of pesticide residue detection when pineapple fresh fruit enters the factory.

With the active support of Zhanjiang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the export volume of canned pineapple in Zhanjiang is increasing by 50% every year. In 20001year, the annual export volume of canned pineapple in Zhanjiang was only over 6,000 tons, and in 2007, the export volume reached 63,400 tons, earning 36.85 million US dollars, increasing by 35. 18% and 50.86% respectively compared with 2006. The export varieties are round pieces, long pieces, fan pieces, canned rice and pineapple, etc. At present, the export processing of canned pineapple in Zhanjiang has developed into another characteristic deep processing industry in Zhanjiang after the aquatic product processing industry, and has become a pillar industry of Zhanjiang's economic development, which has effectively promoted the local economic development and the construction of a new socialist countryside.
