Differences in traditional wood frame construction techniques
Traditional Chinese wood frame buildings are less durable and more difficult to preserve than classical Western stone and concrete structures. This makes the maintenance, renovation and reconstruction of wooden buildings very frequent. If the corresponding traditional construction techniques disappear, then the traditional buildings that survive to this day, including a large number of cultural relics will eventually die out.
