The Capital Museum has a wide variety of cultural relics, with a collection of 250,000 pieces, including bronzes, pottery, calligraphy and painting, stone carvings, coins, jade articles, seals, embroidery, bamboo horns, Buddha statues, stationery, folk handicrafts and so on. There are also many orphans and treasures in the collection that are well-known at home and abroad.

The design of the Capital Museum originates from the idea that the museum is a place connecting history, modernity and future, juxtaposing traditional materials with modern materials to express the description of history and future. The inclined bronze body comes out of the wall, giving birth to the image of cultural relics excavation; The overhanging roof undoubtedly alludes to the traditional eaves of China, while the suspended frame brick wall blurs the boundary between the ancient city wall and the modern curtain wall; The slope of the square is based on the technique of high-rise buildings in the palace, which sets off a magnificent giant structure. The concise rectangular plane is in harmony with the urban pattern of Beijing, and the asymmetrical shape echoes the corner space. Traditional materials such as bronze, wood and masonry represent the long history of Beijing. Stainless steel ceiling, glass curtain wall and advanced building technology show the modernization of new Beijing. The Sunshine Pavilion, the Four Seasons Bamboo Garden, has broken the closed and dull feeling of the traditional museum space and created an open, warm and bright cultural and leisure environment for the citizens. Landscape space is introduced into the museum, and the outdoor sunken bamboo garden extends to the interior. The garden and the exhibition hall of cultural relics are intertwined in time and space, showing the unique oriental artistic charm.
