Why nuclear power

By far the most essential reason is that traditional fossil energy sources, represented by coal, are limited in reserves and have more uses, such as coal chemicals. Simply burning it to generate electricity is becoming less and less cost-effective, and poses serious environmental problems.

In contrast, nuclear power is based on uranium, which has huge reserves (even more so when you consider its relatively low calorific value per unit of energy consumed) and causes fewer direct environmental problems (mainly radiation).

So there is no doubt that nuclear power, if utilized properly, can benefit mankind. However, the safety of nuclear power has always been controversial, as an engineering application, its safety aspects of the technical research and application, as well as strict supervision and other supporting measures are extremely important, the recent nuclear crisis in Japan has also greatly reminded the world, for the safety of nuclear power human beings do not lack of painful experience, just hope that human beings are not too forgetful. Every human invention and application will be a double-edged sword, nuclear power in this regard is not special, so I still hope to be able to correctly treat, careful application, with a good benefit to mankind is inevitable.
