What is a dual economic structure?
Dual economic structure, put forward by American economist Lewis, refers to the economic structure in which modern industry and backward traditional agriculture coexist in developing countries. When agricultural development is still relatively backward, industrialization is ahead of schedule, and modern industrial departments are given priority.
The urban-rural dual economic structure is mainly manifested as:
1, the urban economy is dominated by modern large-scale industrial production, and the rural economy is dominated by typical small-scale peasant economy;
2. Urban roads, communications, health, education and other infrastructure are developed, while rural infrastructure is backward;
3. Urban per capita consumption level is much higher than that in rural areas; Compared with cities, rural areas have a large population.
