What is official script? What are the characteristics of official script?
Features: The seal script is the general name of Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Dazhuan and Xiaozhuan, and it is a kind of writing that shows the interest of each other. The broad sense of seal script includes Oracle Bone Inscriptions and inscriptions on bronze. The seal script here is especially limited to the big seal script and the small seal script. Big seal script refers to inscriptions on bronze inscriptions, bronzes and six-country scripts, which retain the obvious characteristics of ancient hieroglyphics.
Xiao Zhuan, also known as "Qin Zhuan", is the common language of Qin State and compiled by Li Si. The brushwork of seal script is thin and powerful, with many straight lines. There are Fang Bi, round pen and sharp pen, and there are many "hanging needles" for writing. The simplified font of Da Zhuan is characterized by uniform and neat font, which is easier to write than Zhuan.
2. Official script
Lishu, also called Han Li, is a solemn font commonly used in Chinese characters. Its writing effect is slightly wide and flat, the horizontal painting is long and straight, and it is rectangular, paying attention to "silkworm head and goose tail" and "twists and turns". In order to deal with increasingly complicated documents, Cheng Miao, a prison official in Qin Dynasty, made this square font, which changed the structure of seal script and emphasized horizontal, vertical and tight frame.
Features: Official script is much more convenient than seal script, which saves a lot of precious time for future generations and is also of great academic value. Lishu originated in the Qin Dynasty and reached its peak in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It has a great influence on later calligraphy, and the calligraphy circle is known as "Han Li Tang Kai".
3. Regular script
Regular script is also called regular script, real script and official script. It gradually evolved from official script and became more simple and vertical. It is a kind of writing improved from the official script font in Han dynasty, and now people call it block letters.
Features: Because regular script is more convenient than official script, people in Han Dynasty adopted regular script to meet the needs of real life. Regular script reached its peak in the Tang Dynasty, and calligraphers such as Yan Zhenqing were magnificent and unique, which had a great influence on later generations.
4. Running script
Running script is developed and originated on the basis of official script, which produces a font between regular script and cursive script to make up for the slow writing speed of regular script and the fuzziness of cursive script. Running script is not as good as official script, not as good as seal script. In other words, it is a variant of regular script. Because it is written like a human walking, it is called a running script.
Features: Generally speaking, the running script originated in Liu Desheng in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and changed slightly in Zhong You, Wei Chu. The two kings made it very popular. It is very convenient to write and can achieve the purpose of emergency.
5, cursive script
The cursive script was formed in the Han Dynasty and evolved from the official script for simplicity. There are grass bricks, Cao Li, wild grass, etc. The cursive script is simple in structure, correct in strokes, fluent and fast in writing, and difficult to identify.
Features: Among the five calligraphy styles, cursive script is the most abstract artistic feature. Those who were able to cursive in the past dynasties, such as Wang Xianzhi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Huai Su in the Tang Dynasty, and Yu Youren in modern times, were able to be unique in chaos and feel beautiful in madness.
