Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Hematological Diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine
In traditional Chinese medicine, it belongs to the categories of "tuberculosis deficiency", "blood deficiency" and "anemia".
After more than 40 years of practice, Chinese medicine has accumulated rich experience and achieved good results. Our hospital began to study the treatment of aplastic anemia with traditional Chinese medicine in the late 1950s. In the early 1960 s, he took the lead in putting forward the viewpoint of aplastic anemia with kidney deficiency, focusing on tonifying kidney. Now it has been widely recognized as a routine method of treating this disease in traditional Chinese medicine. In the early 1980s, Beijing Huajun Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine summarized the syndrome differentiation and classification of aplastic anemia (yin deficiency, yang deficiency and yin-yang deficiency) with modern medical research methods, which was used to guide clinical treatment and improve curative effect.
Tonifying kidney method:
Kidney deficiency can be divided into three syndrome types: yin deficiency, yang deficiency and yin-yang deficiency, which can be transformed with the condition and accompanied by spleen deficiency and blood stasis.
Yin deficiency of kidney: symptoms include dizziness, tinnitus, soreness of waist and knees, feverish sensation of five nerves, night sweats, dry throat, hemorrhagic purpura, and reddish or brownish black tongue coating, which should be treated by nourishing yin and tonifying kidney.
Kidney-yang deficiency: pale complexion, fatigue, dizziness, cold limbs or loose stool, less bleeding, pale tongue and white teeth marks, which should be treated by warming yang and tonifying kidney.
Kidney yin and yang deficiency: both yin deficiency and yang deficiency should be treated with yin and yang.
Commonly used drugs: Radix Rehmanniae, Fructus Corni, Fructus Ligustri Lucidi, Radix Polygoni Multiflori, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Fructus Lycii, Rhizoma Polygonati, Radix Ginseng/Radix Codonopsis/Radix Pseudostellariae, Radix Astragali, Colla Corii Asini, Colla Plastri Testudinis, Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, Fructus Psoraleae, Herba Epimedii, Rhizoma Curculiginis, Cortex Cinnamomi, Radix Morindae Officinalis, Herba Cistanches, and Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata.
Strengthening spleen and tonifying kidney: For patients with spleen deficiency (asthenia, shortness of breath, anorexia, loose stool, pale tongue, fat fur, white or greasy), on the basis of tonifying kidney, spleen-strengthening drugs are used: Astragalus membranaceus, Poria, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Rhizoma Atractylodis, Fructus Amomi, etc.
Method of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis: For those with no obvious bleeding tendency, long course of disease and blood stasis syndrome, adding drugs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis can improve the curative effect. Commonly used drugs: Spatholobus suberectus, Salvia Miltiorrhiza, Radix Paeoniae Rubra, Rhizoma Chuanxiong, Radix Curcumae, Achyranthis Radix, etc.
Clearing away heat and toxic materials and cooling blood: mainly used for acute aplastic anemia or chronic aplastic anemia complicated with infection and aplastic anemia after hepatitis. TCM syndrome differentiation belongs to sudden fatigue and blood heat. Often appear high fever, irritability, headache, red throat, dry mouth, epistaxis, bleeding gums, purple spots on the skin, blood bubbles on the mouth and tongue, yellow/cracked/black tongue coating. Commonly used drugs: Flos Lonicerae, Fructus Forsythiae, Scutellariae Radix, Coptidis Rhizoma, Fructus Gardeniae, Radix Isatidis, Radix Arnebiae, Ecliptae Herba, Radix Rehmanniae, Radix Scrophulariae, Radix Ophiopogonis, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, Radix Paeoniae Rubra, Cortex Moutan, Herba et Gemma Agrimoniae, Platycladus orientalis, Radix Rubiae, rhinoceros horn/buffalo horn.
For patients with menorrhagia or profuse dripping, the prescription of replenishing qi and blood, cooling blood and stopping bleeding can also achieve satisfactory results.
