What is the meaning of Shanhaiguan
In the traditional oriental culture, mountains gather immortals to be wondrous, the sea hides dragons to be divine, and the passes are perched on dangers to be majestic. In China, the only place named after a combination of mountain, sea and pass is Shanhaiguan. Five thousand years ago, China's ancestors flourished here; 2,000 years ago, Qin Shi Huang's fourth tour of the East, set up a national gate here; more than 600 years ago, a generation of famous general Xu Da built the Great Wall and passes here, and Shanhaiguan has become famous all over the world since then. The steepness of the mountains, the breadth of the sea and the majesty of the customs, here in one, forming a natural landscape and human history into one magnificent landscape.
