What are the innovations of jade modeling in Qing Dynasty?

The innovation of jade modeling in Qing dynasty is mainly reflected in bionic freehand brushwork jade.

There are two kinds of bionic freehand brushwork jade: one is jade carving with natural animals and plants as the object;

The other is jade articles that combine natural scenery, pavilions, attics and gardens. Its shape mainly appears in the form of jade carving mountain.

The former is widely used in modeling. In addition, it is often carved into practical utensils, furnishings, stationery and so on. Use begonia, lotus, ganoderma lucidum, Chinese cabbage, bamboo and plum as auspicious things, or use these auspicious fancy decorations. Some works even combine animal and plant modeling to achieve better results. Imitation architectural modeling is the application of traditional architectural forms in jade carving art, and some of these works borrow local architectural modeling, which is mostly manifested in stoves, bottles and other utensils. For example, the Jasper Tower Furnace in Qianlong period, the lower part is a three-beast foot furnace, and the upper part is a gourd-shaped pavilion-style building with bells hanging under each eaves. There is also courtyard-style architectural modeling, with the theme of showing garden scenes and characters, which makes the whole work full of poetry and life.
