A strange house in Yunnan, the bedroom is in China and the living room is abroad. What is the status quo?
This strange house is located in Ruili City, Yunnan Province, and its stockade is also divided into two parts. In China, it is called Silent Village, and in Myanmar, it is called Mangxiu Village. The national boundaries here are not as clear as those in other areas. Most of the boundaries of other areas belong to no man's land, which is just a living area. Therefore, the boundary line in this stockade is not clearly composed of stone tablets or barbed wire, but is marked by natural barriers, such as woven bamboo fences, dug ditches, earth ridges or village roads. Here, fruits and vegetables from Silent Village can spread to Mangxiu Village in Myanmar, and hens raised in Mangxiu Village can come to China to lay eggs, which is very interesting. There, the villagers also set up a swing, and when playing on the swing, they can easily cross the territory of the two countries and complete the transnational journey in one second.
Because they are too close, villagers often go abroad without knowing it. In order to distinguish clearly, people set up a boundary pillar there and named it boundary pillar 7 1. This boundary pillar was erected before the boundary pillar was laid between China and Myanmar. There is a long yellow paint line along the boundary pillar. Interestingly, there are two water wells at the boundary pillar, which are located on both sides of the boundary pillar. The left side belongs to the people of China, and the right side belongs to the people of Myanmar. The water for daily life of the two peoples is taken from here. For generations, the people of China and Myanmar have been drinking a well like this, and they have walked along in harmony, which is also regarded as a symbol of friendship by the two countries.
In addition to the strange scene of drinking water in a well, there is also a unique landscape of one hospital and two countries. The owner of this house is Xiangbu, a villager from A Dai, Yunnan. His yard is just at the border, which divides the house into two parts, one at the border of China and the other at the border of Myanmar. There is also a boundary pillar 84 in his yard. People who live here will always remember that the bedroom is in China, the kitchen and living room are in Myanmar, and for the owner of the house, he travels all over the country every day. Here, the owner of the house can travel back and forth between the two countries every day without applying for a visa. However, with the house becoming more and more famous, many people come here to travel. For the sake of safety, the two governments agreed that the boundary pillar should prevail and the building should not be built within 20 meters of the boundary line. So now that the owner of the house has moved away, the sight of one hospital and two countries has become a thing of the past.
Besides using a well, there is also an international school here. In order to live in harmony and make friendship last forever, the local government has built a border primary school on this border, which can accept Burmese primary school students. In addition, people in border areas are familiar with each other's languages and customs, so intermarriage between them is very common, while education in China is better, so many families in China and Myanmar send their children to school, that is, this international school-Silent Primary School. Every day, we can see a group of primary school students riding bicycles across the border, coming to China to study, and then returning to Myanmar after school, which has become a famous local landscape. With the emphasis on education, in order to speed up the development of Ruili City, many Burmese people will come here to do business, and the school has accepted more and more students, and now it has reached thousands.

Of course, there will also be mediation courts set up to solve contradictions and disputes. It is said that the success rate of mediation here is as high as 97%, which is one of the reasons why the two nationalities can live in harmony. Today, the scene of prosperity here, the friendly life of the two peoples, and the joint creation of a better tomorrow have witnessed the friendly exchanges between the Chinese and Burmese peoples.
