What does hard disk mean?

Computer hard disk is the most important storage device of computer. Hard disk (called hard disk in Hong Kong and Taiwan, Hard Disk Drive in English, abbreviated as HDD) consists of one or more disks made of aluminum or glass. These disks are covered with ferromagnetic materials.

Most hard disks are fixed hard disks, which are permanently sealed and fixed in hard disk drives. The storage medium of the early hard disk was replaceable, but now the typical hard disk is a fixed storage medium, which is sealed inside the hard disk (except for a filter hole to balance the air pressure). With the development, mobile hard disks appear, and become more and more popular, with more and more types. Most hard disks installed on microcomputers are called "Winster Hard Disk" or "Warm Disk" for short, because they all adopt Winster technology.
