The Significance and Origin of Teacher's Day

Teachers' Day is a time to thank teachers. The holiday dates in Duqu vary from country to country, with Chinese mainland Hezhi being September 10 and Taiwan Province Province being September 28th.

The word "Tao" has a double meaning. "It refers to both a social role and the undertaker of this role". Teachers in a broad sense refer to those who impart knowledge and experience, while teachers in a narrow sense refer to those who have received special education and training and are engaged in education and teaching in education (schools).

Teachers in a narrow sense refer to professionals who, through special education and training, impart human scientific and cultural knowledge and skills to students, develop students' physique, educate students in ideology and morality, cultivate students' noble aesthetic taste, and train the educated into talents needed by society.

According to the fact that social division of labor and school education are the main forms of education, teachers are defined as professionals entrusted by society to exert a specific influence on students' body and mind at school and cultivate them into people needed by a certain society.

Respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching is a fine tradition of China. As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty in 1 1 century BC, the idea of "disciples should be teachers and respect their fathers" was put forward. Confucius, a great educator in ancient times, left a series of wise sayings, such as "teach without class" and "make the past serve the present". Teachers who preach, teach and dispel doubts are praised by the people of China as engineers of human soul.

In fact, as early as 1932, the government of the Republic of China has designated June 6 as Teacher's Day. After liberation, Teacher's Day on June 6th was cancelled and changed to "May 1st International Labor Day". However, Teacher's Day has no separate activities and features.

September 10 Teacher's Day is set in consideration of the new atmosphere of universities, middle schools and primary schools in China since the beginning of the new school year. Respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching at the beginning of freshmen's enrollment can create a good atmosphere of "teachers teach well and students learn well"1September 1985 10 is the first teacher's day in China.
