Traditional Garden Inscription Works

A: The development history of classical gardens in China can be divided into five periods:

I. Generation period

The budding period of the emergence and growth of gardens is equivalent to the Yin, Zhou, Qin and Han Dynasties. China gardens were first seen in historical records in the Western Zhou Dynasty 165438 BC. Cave is an entertaining living environment formed by using natural landscape trees, digging ponds and building platforms for emperors and princes to hunt and enjoy. When Lanchi Palace was in Qin Dynasty, Qin Shihuang built many detached palaces in the south of Weihe River, and also dug a long pond in the garden to lead the Weihe River, which was 200 miles from east to west and 20 miles from north to south. The soil in the pond is Penglai Mountain, which has created a record of artificial mountain piling in China.

Second, the turning point.

Equivalent to Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. The "Jingu Garden" in the Western Jin Dynasty was a famous private garden at that time. After the Northern Wei Emperor moved the capital to Luoyang, he also managed a large number of private gardens. According to Galand in Luoyang, gardening in Luoyang was very popular at that time, and private gardens in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties changed from realism to freehand brushwork.

Third, the heyday

Equivalent to Sui and Tang Dynasties. The layout of the Western Imperial Garden in the Sui Dynasty inherited the form of "one pool and three mountains" in the Han Dynasty, and embodied the rule of kingship and theocracy, with strong symbolic color. Sixteen groups of architectural gardens are distributed in the environment surrounded by mountains and rivers, and become gardens in gardens. Unlike palaces in the Han Dynasty, they are connected by Zhou Ge Road. This is the turning point from the architectural palace in Qin and Han dynasties to the landscape palace, which was the first in the Northern Song Dynasty. The buildings on the mountain can be hidden from time to time, which reflects the improvement of architectural skills.

Fourth, maturity

Equivalent to the Song Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty. Song Huizong's Shoushan Root Moon was first conceived in composition, and then created in artistic conception. The designer of the garden is Evonne himself, who is famous for his calligraphy and painting. Song Huizong, who likes sightseeing, prefers gardening. The construction of Genyue is a great pioneering work in the history of China gardens. It not only has the largest number of rockeries in Taihu Lake, but also many scenic spots that reflect the landscape characteristics of our country. It has not only the beauty of mountains and rivers, but also many pavilions. It is a typical landscape palace, which has become an important reference for official gardens in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties since the Song Dynasty. The Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties Palace has further developed on the basis of inheriting the formation of this traditional landscape palace.

Late maturity of verb (abbreviation of verb)

From the middle of Qing dynasty to the end of Qing dynasty. At the end of Qing Dynasty, the three royal palaces were Yuanmingyuan, Summer Resort and Qingyi Garden (Summer Palace). Yuanmingyuan is the largest one, including its two affiliated gardens, Changchun Garden and Qichun Garden (Wanchun Garden), so it is also called "Yuanming Three Gardens".
