Worried that her dogs would be cold in the winter, she knitted 300 sweaters for them.

Jane Brown's love for dogs has transformed her from a seller of handmade hats and coats for dogs into a volunteer knitter of little Warm Brand clothes for stray dogs. To date, the woman has spent more than 4,000 hours knitting more than 300 tiny clothes and hats for the pups. Not only that, but she donates part of her earnings to stray dog rescue organizations to help these poor little creatures.

Artist Jane? Brown has spent 4,000 hours so far knitting warm little outfits for stray Grays (also known as greyhounds). A few years ago, inspired by a friend, Brown began selling her handmade dog hats and dog coats.

It didn't take long for her to decide to stop making a profit and instead give the tweed coats and hats to stray dogs to keep them warm and give them shelter. Since these little greyhounds have short fur and are very afraid of the cold, these gifts from Brown became a sought-after item for them every winter.

Today, Brown has knitted more than 300 small clothes and hats for these puppies. Not only that, but every garment Brown makes has a special logo sewn into it, "I sew a heart on each coat to honor the little greyhounds who didn't make it through the winter. The number of these unfortunate puppies is just heartbreaking."

In addition to donating clothes to the puppies, Brown donates a portion of his weekday proceeds to charities that rescue Grayehounds, which in turn use a portion of their own proceeds to buy items for the dogs. Brown's philanthropy for stray dogs is delightful. For example, Kerry from the Birmingham Greyhound Rescue? Elliman has said, "Jane has helped us so much, we would have had to spend a lot of money on clothes for the dogs but because of her donations we have saved a huge amount of money."
