In order to understand the real needs and development bottlenecks of coal power enterprises in Shanxi Province under the background of "carbon peak and carbon neutral", on April 15, Shanxi Kecheng Environmental Protection Industry Co-innovation Research Institute held a seminar on "enterprise development under the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutral". More than 40 people from coal and power companies in the province and industry experts participated in the discussion to discuss the dual-carbon response of coal and power companies.

She comprehensively analyzed the opportunities and challenges faced by the coal power industry, and gave solutions and suggestions on strategic decision-making, statistical accounting, cost management and basic capacity reserves.

She pointed out that the coal power industry is a key area for the realization of the national and Shanxi peak carbon goals and carbon neutral vision, and that coal power enterprises, as the main implementation body of carbon reduction, should attach great importance to it, respond to it seriously, incorporate the concepts of peak carbon and carbon neutrality into the development strategy and planning of the enterprise, coordinate the relationship between their own operation and development and the reduction of carbon emissions, and avoid making decisions that deviate from the direction of carbon reduction / carbon neutrality; emphasized that enterprises need to comprehensively and systematically map out the current status of their carbon emissions, and to make a comprehensive and systematic assessment of their own carbon emissions. She analyzed the characteristics of coal pulverizer fly ash, circulating fluidized bed fly ash, desulfurization gypsum generation and comprehensive utilization in the thermal power industry.

She proposed that the study of solid waste generation law is a substantive work to solve the solid waste consumption mode, and suggested that the study of solid waste generation law in the thermal power industry should be a systematic thinking from the raw and auxiliary materials involved in the solid waste generation process, production conditions, flue gas ultra-low emission process, desulfurization wastewater treatment process, denitrification process, as well as the solid waste pretreatment measures, etc., and study the links of the substances into the solid waste, the form and its migration and transformation laws, and analyze the impact of various substances on process parameters and pollutant emissions in the downstream comprehensive utilization process. On this basis, it is proposed that if the amount of solid waste generated is reduced at source and the composition of solid waste is optimized, it may be possible to promote its comprehensive utilization with less input, e.g., the chlorine content in the desulfurization gypsum of some thermal power plants fluctuates greatly, and it is necessary to improve the recycling cycle of the desulfurization wastewater and its treatment, so as to make the chlorine ions in the desulfurization gypsum less enriched, which will be conducive to the promotion of desulfurization gypsum used in the field of building materials. Therefore, the key link to solve the high chlorine content of FGD gypsum is to treat the FGD wastewater discharged from the flue gas desulfurization system of the limestone-gypsum method in a timely manner to meet the standard, and to guarantee the dehydration efficiency of FGD gypsum and reduce its water content, so as to improve the quality of FGD gypsum, which can make the calcium sulfate dihydrate in FGD gypsum reach more than 85%, and the chlorine ions control is less than 600ppm. According to the different quality levels of desulfurization gypsum ("Flue gas desulfurization gypsum" GB/T37785-2019), it can be used as a cement retarder or to produce plastering gypsum, gypsum blocks, paper-faced gypsum, and a-high-strength gypsum powder, etc., respectively.

Finally, Wei Li briefly analyzed the challenges and opportunities faced by thermal power enterprises in co-disposal of solid waste, introduced the use of pulverized coal furnace, circulating fluidized bed boiler power generation enterprises in co-disposal of municipal sludge, straw and other biomass fuels and other actual cases, suggesting that enterprises from the co-disposal of solid waste to increase new industrial opportunities, synergistic carbon reduction, to assume more social responsibility, to form a multi-win situation.

Suggest gangue power generation enterprises in the solid waste resource utilization and energy efficient use of a good balance between accounting for carbon emission reduction and solid waste resource utilization of economic accounts. Finally, it is suggested that the marketization of desulfurization gypsum has a broad prospect, and it is called on the coal power enterprises to optimize the management of flue gas desulfurization, reduce the water content and chlorine content of desulfurization gypsum, improve the content of active ingredients, and promote the comprehensive utilization of desulfurization gypsum.
