Parking brake refers to the manual brake installed on motor vehicles, referred to as hand brake. It is used to stabilize the vehicle after it stops and avoid accidents caused by skidding when the vehicle stops on a sloping road. The common hand brake is usually placed in the position where the driver's right hand hangs down, which is convenient to use, but some models also install the parking brake on one side of the brake pedal.
The parking brake only brakes the rear wheels. It uses two metal steel cables to pull the brake pad of the rear wheel, which plays the role of braking. In general, when the handle is lifted to 70% of the full stroke, the hand brake should be in the normal braking position. Before detecting the braking force of the handbrake, we must first find this point, which can be determined by counting the sound of the ratchet wheel. 70% of this position is the effective working point of the handle.
