Guangxi Famous Dramas and Related Materials
Guangxi Opera is one of the main operas in Guangxi, and it is also one of the local operas of Han nationality in Guangxi. Commonly known as Guiju Opera or Guiban Opera, it is a kind of opera sung in Guilin dialect. It's exquisite, appropriate and lively. It conveys feelings by means of facial expressions and postures, and pays attention to shaping characters with delicate and realistic performance techniques. Even martial arts dramas are mostly literary. It is popular in the northern dialect (Putonghua) spoken by Han people in Guangxi, such as Guilin, Liuzhou, Hechi, Nanning, and the urban and rural areas in northern Wuzhou where Putonghua is spoken, and is deeply loved by Guilin people. Guangxi Opera was introduced into Guilin in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, and after a period of language changes, it gradually evolved into Guangxi Opera. Its history is about 200 years. In 1930s and 1940s, Ou Yangyuqian, a famous dramatist, wrote, adapted and newly edited Liang Hongyu and Broken Bridge with Golden Branches, which became one of the top ten plays in China.
Yongxi
One of the local operas of the Han nationality in Guangxi. Yong Opera belongs to Pi Huangqiang School and originated in Hunan. It used to be called Cantonese Opera, Old Opera, Local Opera, Local Opera and Wuliu Opera. It is called Yong Opera because its activity center is in the ancient Yong Zhou area, and it is sung in the official dialect of Nanning. It is one of the four major local operas in Guangxi. It has spread in Guangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan, Guizhou, Vietnam, Cambodia and other places.
Guangxi Shigong Opera
Guangxi Shigong Opera: a kind of Zhuang Opera. Also known as Shi Zhuang's plays. It is distributed in the north of Guigang, Guangxi and counties (cities) such as Laibin, Wuxuan, Heshan, Xincheng, Xiangzhou and Jinxiu. Developed on the basis of teacher (wizard) jumping. It turns out that the host wears various gods masks (also known as playing faces) to dance and entertain the gods and sing stories about the gods during the sacrificial activities; During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, it developed into a folk story and was sung in different roles, which was called teacher-student drama. Shi Gong is not only a wizard who does things, but also an artist who performs Shi Gong's traditional operas. They are all men, and the roles of women are reversed by men. In the early days, normal colleges and classes around the country gradually became places and organizations for teaching teachers' drama. By 1948, there are more than 150 teacher troupes. 1950 years later, Shigong Opera Troupe broke away from the witch-worship activities, and there were 280 amateur Shigong Opera Troupe composed of young men and women who loved literature and art. The Shigong Opera Troupe was rich in dramas, most of which were Zhuang folk stories and songs about Zhuang folk heroes, and some of them were localized Han stories, or were adapted and transplanted from other operas since childhood. The form of singing was originally a one-stop singing, with bee drums, gongs and cymbals, followed by white characters and orchestral instruments. After arrangement and improvement, it has developed into a distinctive local opera.
Colored drama
Colored drama, commonly known as tone, color tone, color light, ho ho, etc. , belonging to the light drama system, originated from rural song and dance and rap in Guilin, Guangxi. There are about 500 kinds of color-coded dramas, namely, one-man show, rival show, big flirt, three minor shows, leading show and rival show. Color opera was originally one of the Han operas in northern Guangxi, and it is a local opera that people of all ethnic groups in Guangxi love to see and hear.
Niuniang opera
Niu Niang Opera, also known as Niu Opera, Di Opera or Long Shirt Opera, is a Chinese opera based on Cenxi folk song and dance "Spring Cow". After liberation, it was named Niuniang Opera. With strong local characteristics, it can talk, sing and play, which is very entertaining and deeply loved by local farmers.
Tea-picking opera in southern Guangxi
One of the Han operas in Guangxi. Tea-picking drama in southern Guangxi was introduced to Bobai from southern Jiangxi in the late Ming Dynasty (AD 1628), and it developed from singing bamboo and horses to singing and dancing to picking tea. According to the characteristics of interlining, it is also called "DuDu Ya". Widely spread in 33 towns and their surrounding areas under the jurisdiction of Bobai County, Yulin City, southern Guangxi, as well as parts of neighboring Qinzhou City. After being introduced into Bobai, it formed its unique style in the Qing Dynasty, and gradually developed into a unique drama in the history of China opera in the Republic of China.
Guangxi Zhuang opera
Guangxi Zhuang drama is a kind of Zhuang drama developed on the basis of rich folk literature, music, dance and rap art. Guangxi Zhuang Opera began to perform in Tongzhi and Guangxu years in Qing Dynasty, and it was popular in western Guangxi and Funing and Guangnan areas of Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province.
Guangxi Dong Opera
Dong opera is a kind of drama of Dong nationality. It was first formed in Liping, Rongjiang and Congjiang in Guizhou, and then spread to Sanjiang and Hunan Passage in Guangxi where Dong people live in compact communities. Dong Opera, as one of the minority operas originated in Qing Dynasty, has strong Dong characteristics and is one of the artistic treasures of national folk dramas.
