Why we always like to preach

The reasons are really simple and there are two main ones

Sense of Authority

This is a great feeling, being in a position of authority gives one a sense of authority. It's a feeling that feeds one's narcissism well, and I always look to my kids to give us instant feedback. It's a great feeling, and one can't give it up easily!

The traditional model

This is how one has come to be used to it. Grandparents to fathers, fathers to children, all the same, such a model for us, already deep in our bones, do not know what better way, and the collective consciousness will often glorify this behavior, will be considered a kind of expression of love, even if you will be very resistant to the inner.

Doesn't solve the problem

In the older generation, this approach is sometimes effective because the child often cooperates with us under pressure, but in the long run it is a very bad approach because the child's problems keep recurring. They still throw their things around; they still walk barefoot at home; they still need to be rushed many times to eat; they still make mistakes in the same place over and over again. Think about ourselves, are we not repeating some annoying things endlessly?

Appropriate nagging

On the subject of the love of lecturing, we have come a long way when we realize that this approach does not solve the problem any better. So, proper nagging by the older generation represents a kind of concern that is always warming in retrospect; but beyond a point, it can be overwhelming and oppressive.
