The tiger in the oracle bone script has a very powerful image, as shown below, with a bloody mouth like a pincer, and in addition the text also reflects its beautiful markings all over the body, and a curved and powerful tail, which is a living image of a man-eating beast.

The tiger has always been a god of war. Any character inside the Chinese character for tiger, both in appearance and meaning, is a feeling of might and power.

The Chinese character for "tiger" in Jinwen, as shown in the picture below, has a huge head and an open mouth, plus powerful claws. It reflects people's feelings about the tiger's ferocious characteristics.

The fierceness of the tiger is also reflected in some other tiger characters. The oracle bone character for "abuse" (pictured below) shows a human figure lying on its back on the left side, looking very weak, while on the right side is a ferocious tiger on top of a human being, with its bloody mouth open, about to bite at the human being. It is a picture of a tiger brutally eating a man, how can such a vivid depiction not be brutal.

The other Chinese character for tiger reflects the fact that the tiger is the king. It is the character for emptiness (pictured above), a tiger's head with two claws, and underneath is the character for earth, which represents a territory. Together, it means that the tiger roams in its own territory, surrounded by a deserted, empty and lonely feeling. To be a king is often to walk a path of loneliness.
