What is the difference between the deck paving of the main bridge of the sea-crossing bridge and the deck paving of the ordinary bridge?

When you say bridge deck pavement, you should mean asphalt pavement on the bridge deck. There is little difference between ordinary bridge deck pavement and ordinary asphalt pavement construction, and there is little change in materials and technology. However, attention should be paid to the construction of ordinary bridge deck pavement: 1) Do a good job of waterproof layer and adhesive layer under bridge deck pavement; 2) When rolling, the vibration is large, which will have adverse effects on the bridge deck. It is recommended to use static pressure roller, tire roller or oscillating roller.

However, there are more requirements for deck pavement of cross-sea bridges. First of all, the deck types of cross-sea bridges are different, and there is a big gap. If it is a concrete bridge, its pavement is similar to that of ordinary bridge deck, but the waterproof layer and adhesive layer are much stricter. Paving and compaction of construction should be designed separately to protect the bridge deck and improve the quality of pavement. If it is a steel bridge, its deck pavement is much more complicated: 1) The longitudinal slope of the steel bridge deck is relatively large, so the skid resistance of the pavement should be considered; 2) The deflection of steel deck is larger than that of other bridges, so the deformation resistance of its pavement is better than that of other bridges.

Secondly, the span of cross-sea bridges is generally large, and vehicles will have great vibration when driving on them, so the bridge deck pavement has much stronger anti-vibration, anti-looseness and anti-deformation capabilities.

Thirdly, in the process of pavement construction of cross-sea bridge, pavement parameters and rolling technology should be designed in detail, and the rolling tonnage should meet the requirements of bridge load under the condition that the vibration cannot be too large.

In order to reduce the adverse effects of vibration on bridges, the usual practice now is to use self-compacting mixture instead of mechanical compaction for pavement construction-pouring asphalt concrete.
