Is the word "vertical pile" understood correctly? -Interpretation of the series "Kung Fu with indomitable spirit"
Many people's impressions of standing piles
In real life, you may have seen all kinds of standing piles: some stand and practice; Squatting and practicing; Half squatting; Some people practice squatting on a stake like in the movie; Also, although they don't squat, they stand on their hips and tiptoes, which are varied and have their own characteristics.
Various pile-standing techniques
More and more people begin to realize that standing piles are not the patent of martial arts practitioners, but can also be applied to daily health and fitness, and the effect is excellent, so they gradually begin to join the team of standing piles.
Among the pile lovers, many people have achieved good health-keeping effects through practice, and many people have not only failed to keep healthy, but have stood out from new diseases and gone further and further on the wrong road.
Different from general sports, standing piles belong to internal strength, which can not only strengthen the body; It is also a method of physical and mental cultivation, a life science to develop human potential. Therefore, standing piles can not be separated from the guidance of correct theory, from objective and rigorous practice, and from the guidance of experienced kungfu masters; You can't let your imagination and practice be blind, otherwise the consequences will be very troublesome.
It is no exaggeration to say that in the field of piling, Mr. Ma is an out-and-out "Ming family". Professor Ma Lao's Gong Zhuang Eight Forms are satisfactory in theoretical basis, practice sequence, safety and practice effect. It is of great value to Wushu practitioners, Chinese medicine practitioners, practitioners and all friends with active health awareness.
Teacher Ma instructs the students to stand on the stake.
For the theory and method of standing piles, Ma Lao has given a detailed explanation in the book "Kung Fu with indomitable spirit", and unreservedly disclosed the secrets and tricks, which can be described as boundless merits! In order to help you better understand the contents of the book, and also to help friends who have just come into contact with Ma Lao Kung Fu better understand the main points, we will launch a series of micro-journals of "Reading and Sticking to Kung Fu" from this issue, and do some concept sorting and knowledge extension on the basis of Ma Lao's original text, so as to help the majority of pile friends clarify their concepts, eliminate doubts, establish positive beliefs and improve their Kung Fu.
In this issue, we will first break the topic and talk about the meaning of the word "vertical pile".
Indomitable spirit of kung fu
The meaning of the word "vertical pile"
interpret
Stump, which originated from traditional martial arts, is a unique way of physical exercise in China and a part of intangible cultural heritage, which is enough to make everyone in China proud. However, including many professional martial arts practitioners, they are not clear about the meaning of the word "standing pile". Generally, all postures of the body are called standing piles, but this is not the case at all.
Predecessors named the word "vertical pile", and they have clearly told us its concept and the key to cultivation:
Stand.-stand, not squat.
1 ? Standing piles are not squatting piles.
2 ? Knees relaxed, masculine and feminine.
Pile-pile is straight.
3 ? You are standing on a stake. You are a stake.
Perseverance is a bet.
Let's read it in detail:
1 ? Standing piles are not squatting piles.
This is easy to understand, but most people ignore it. In fact, many so-called pile-standing methods are actually half or full squatting, like squatting.
Many people think that squatting "horse stance just look" or "horse stance just look" means standing guard. In fact, this is a big misunderstanding. Literally, it can be seen that it is a "squatting" posture rather than a "standing" posture; It is a horse "step" rather than a horse "pile"; These are two completely different training methods. Standing piles is to seek kung fu from relaxation, and the more comfortable the better; Ma Ping wants to seek kung fu from fatigue. The more painful, the better. The former is a health exercise, while the latter is an overdraft exercise; The former mainly practices the positive side, while the latter mainly practices the negative side; The two have little in common except that they are both static. Maybe this is where the confusion began. Some people stand lower and lower, and gradually become "squatting" piles. They also began to think that standing piles should be practiced on the dark side. The lower they squat, the more painful they are. What's more, this way of practicing is "killing one thousand enemies and losing eight hundred", and many people hurt their bodies before practicing.
Ma Lao repeatedly emphasized this point in the book, which is thought-provoking:
"predecessors often said:' practitioners are like a dime a dozen, and successful people are like horns.' Why is this happening? Because Buddhism can't be taught, the truth is unknown. I worked hard myself at that time, thinking that the lower the posture, the better. The longer you stand, the better. When I was young, I could squat dozens of times with one leg carrying 50 kilograms. I thought it was different from ordinary people. However, when I was standing, most adults pushed me hard, so I had to step back. Whether I stand up straight or kneel, the result is the same. I suddenly understood a truth. The lower you stand, the more bent your hind legs are. The muscles in front of your legs are stiff and hard, but the muscles behind your legs are getting softer and softer. "
"Now many countries' sports departments advocate Ma Ping, and Ma Ping is too important. It's no use saying Ma Ping. I dare say, anyone who is flat "ma bu" or horse stance just look will be beaten. It doesn't work. This is a double failure. You are squatting flat, right? Reaching the best state is failure, and this state is the best. At this time, your legs are stiff in front, your back is weak and you have no strength. If you push it, it will fall. Jin Yong said that you can't succeed immediately. In fact, it will fall when pushed. "
Artistic exaggeration in movies leads to people's wrong impression of kung fu.
"Man, why can't you bend your legs? Bend your legs, and your knees will bear the weight of your whole body. After squatting, the center of gravity is behind, and you should fall down. Balance with what? Balance with your knees, so it's not right. It may have something to do with my career. I am engaged in mechanical design. I design every part and I do stress analysis. I also analyze people. When I take a posture, this is the stress on my knee, and I can't practice anywhere else. I practiced very soft in the back and hard in the front, so in this respect, I realized that I had to stand tall. "
When squatting or boxing in a semi-squat position, the maximum stress of the knee joint (patellofemoral joint) can reach 3 times of the body weight, which is easy to cause joint disorder and strain.
2 ? Knees relaxed, masculine and feminine.
When we stand naturally, our knees are relaxed, and so is standing on a pile. Some pile friends may not have noticed this, but this is actually the uniqueness of Ma Lao's skill. You can experience it yourself. Bend your knees when standing, your knees are stressed, and your front thigh muscles are tense. The front side of the thigh belongs to the dark side and should be loose and soft. If you are in a state of tension for a long time, it is very unfavorable to your health. Ma Lao pointed out the relationship between acrobatics and human yin and yang from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, which is extreme:
"The top of the head is dry, and the soles of the feet are Kun, which just fits the' lifting heaven and earth'. The back is yang and the abdomen is yin, which is suitable for Tai Chi to show two instruments; These two tools produced four elephants. Our legs are all around, just like four elephants. The sun is on the back of the thigh. The sun must spread. So, stand up straight. The more we squat, the more the sun closes. The sun is not only weak, but also very harmful to health. Not to mention that the knees will be hit hard, and the sun's occlusion will also cause great harm to the health of the viscera. "
"The abdomen is yin, the back is yang, and the back is yang. If you squat down, you will practice the rigidity of the yin side and the softness of the yang side, and you will practice both rigidity and softness, not just a soft relationship. Because your female side is stiff and hard, it is called stiffness, and your male side is closed, which is wrong. "
Interpret "station" and then "pile";
Pile-pile is straight.
3 ? You are standing on a stake. You are a stake.
Many people don't understand the meaning of "pile", and Ma Lao also gives an easy-to-understand and convincing explanation:
"What is the pile? The newcomer who came this morning, when I talked about standing on the pile, I felt quite scary. " "Ma bu" or "Ma bu" or "Ma bu" or "Ma bu", alas, he said he was too tired, his knees hurt, and he was tired and painful. I said it's not called a stake, so how can it be called a stake? As the name implies, the piles driven on the construction site outside are piles. Is that pile curved? None of them are curved, all of them are straight, and the straighter the better. You stand on a pile, you are a pile! Why are you still standing on that pile of things? That is wrong. They just nailed two pegs to stand and called them standing piles. That's called standing piles, not standing piles. "
Piles on the construction site
"Literally, the pile is straight. If you hold on, you will stand tall. Squatting down is not a pile! Some people think I'm standing on a high pile. I think my name is standing pile, and kneeling down can't be called low pile. It is not a pile at all, so it is a pile. "
4? ? Perseverance is a bet.
Now let's talk about the most critical place-indomitable spirit, which is also the profound meaning of the topic: standing in a pile is indomitable spirit.
How to understand "indomitable spirit"? When we stand naturally, at most, we only feel that we are between heaven and earth and have no special feelings; However, if you adjust your body according to the essentials of standing piles in the book, your body will really feel indomitable, just like being nailed to the ground from head to toe. This feeling is really like a stake, even your mood will become peaceful and stable.
If the posture is accurate enough, you will feel that there is a clear axis in your body. As long as you keep this axis, you will stand up easily and stably, and you will not be tired after a long time. At this time, the body is indomitable and completely defensive, which fully conforms to the description of the realm of ancient real people in Huangdi Neijing: "lifting heaven and earth"; It is also in line with what the Tao Te Ching said: "I would rather keep the middle road and not say much." This is a perfect interpretation of the opposite pile:
"This axis is called Tiangen, the earth axis, and this line points to the center of the earth. I have given an example. You can see skyscrapers built to the 200th floor or100th floor. That axis is not offset by 1 point or by 0. 1 point from the center of the earth. Now science and technology are very developed, and this axis completely passes through the center of the earth, that is, it keeps the center and will not fall. If your score is 1, you will fall in the middle of the building, which means you didn't keep it. "
Interpretation of Gong Zhuang's First Formula
One of the secrets of finding this axis and ensuring correct posture lies in the weight distribution under your feet. This is a secret in some sects, and Ma Lao made it public selflessly.
"The three fields of the abdomen should all be on this axis. The position of the abdomen is the first seven and the last three of your body, so your force on the heel is also the last seven and the first three, and the heel is 70% stressed. It is the front and the back is the front, so it bears the main weight. "
This kind of standing pile is most in line with human structure and nature. Over time, kung fu won't be complacent. Ma Lao mentioned:
"Let's nail this shaft to the ground. No one can hit it. It's true. You set this middle, this is the middle of the shape, and you will be invincible forever. "
"It is estimated that everyone has experience, and when I start work, you are just out of the half, and my hand is here. You can believe this, right? Everyone who looks for me outside feels this way. Obviously, he made the first move and I got there first. This can definitely be done. "
The secret of "slightly bent legs"
Many Gong Zhuang asked for "slightly bent legs", and Ma Lao also mentioned that legs should be "slightly bent" in his book, so many pile friends have such confusion: didn't they say that "piles are straight"? Do you cross your legs when you stand on the pile? Don't you squat down again when you bend over?
This "slightly bent" state is actually another secret of standing piles.
In fact, what we commonly call "leg straightening" is actually not straight, but the axis of the thigh and calf bones forms a negative angle, and at this time, the knee is also tense, and it is impossible to form the overall strength running through the top and bottom, as shown in the following figure 1.
Slight flexion when standing a pile means relaxing on the basis of straightening your legs, and your legs are slightly "bent", that is, your knees are pushed forward a little. At this time, the thigh and calf bones are basically on the same line, or have a small arc, which is the same as the angle when we stand daily. This is the most natural state. At this time, the coccyx is turned forward, and it is easiest to find the rigidity of the big tendons in the Committee. Both "seeking straightness by bending" in the boxing spectrum and "knee flexion and extension" in the internal classic are in this state, as shown in Figure 2 below.
If you bend your legs a little more, you will be in a state of bending your knees. At this time, the knee is bound to be stressed, and the tendon in the center of the positive side is bound to relax, turning into a wrong posture of female rigidity and male softness, which is not only tiring to practice, but also harmful to the body, as shown in Figure 3 below.
Schematic diagram of leg angle comparison
This angle is subtle, varies from person to person and cannot be quantified. The formulas such as "seeking straightness in curve" and "bending knee stretching" left by predecessors still accurately describe this point, but most of the later generations only understand "curve" and don't understand "seeking straightness" and "stretching", so they are all wrong. Although this is a detail, it is the key to the pile. Ma Lao selflessly told this:
"After we straighten our hands, our outstretched hands are slightly bent, but naturally bent. As long as you don't collapse back, tighten up, stand back and hold on. That is rigidity. If the rigidity is removed, it is a' slight bend', which is a natural state. "
"If you are a pile, you can't bend over. I said you can't bend over. Not absolutely. You must keep natural bending and keep it natural. "
You can experience it for yourself. Maybe everyone's angle will be slightly different, so it's best to form an indomitable force line. If you can't find it temporarily, take the knee relaxation as the standard.
To sum up, the word "standing pile" seems simple, but in fact, it has rich connotations, including the knowledge of traditional Chinese and western medicine and biomechanics, such as the distribution of yin and yang, muscle relaxation and exertion skills, the establishment of supporting structures, and the way of gravity distribution. It is indeed a life science and a precious wealth left by our ancestors.
We have mentioned many times before that "medicine and martial arts are indistinguishable", but in fact, civil and military arts cannot be separated. Without enough cultural background, not only can we not understand the true meaning of Wushu, but even lead to the wrong direction. You can't tell the difference between standing on a stake and squatting. It just looks small, and losing traditional culture is big. Ma Lao has repeatedly stressed in his book that it is necessary to read more and learn more, not stick to the rules, and inherit traditional culture with wisdom:
"Be sure to study hard. Don't listen to that "established". It is "established". If everyone says so, they think it is right, but in fact it is just the opposite. "
"So as a person, if you are wise, it is impossible to follow suit. Why do many academic achievements follow suit now? As soon as the film came out, this kind of kung fu became popular immediately. Dude, why do you follow the media? Why not think for yourself? "
"There are a lot of people who have practiced all their lives, their legs have been operated on, and they are still squatting, which is still very low. This is not wise. "
"So we should study, learn to read, communicate with our ancestors and communicate with God."
Practice requires wisdom, so do health and kung fu. Ma Lao spent nearly half of his book Kung Fu explaining the wisdom of martial arts with indomitable spirit, which can be described as well-intentioned. The original intention of active health preservation is good, but whether the method is scientific and reasonable is the first factor to consider. Many martial arts practitioners can't tell yin and yang, and they can't tell right from wrong, and they lack sufficient medical knowledge. They practice hard with enthusiasm, and as a result, the more they practice, the more they get hurt, the more they lose their qi and blood, and the meridians are blocked. They have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, stroke and even cancer, and their health is not as good as that of ordinary people who don't practice martial arts. Although how to understand kung fu is everyone's freedom, from the perspective of health, we must follow the objective laws of life and let nature take its course.
I believe that through Ma Lao's enlightenment and the interpretation of this article, everyone has thoroughly understood the wisdom contained in the word "standing pile" and made clear the correct direction of practicing martial arts. I wish everyone will always be diligent and healthy!
