Korea was founded in 1928, joined FIFA in 1948, and won the East Asia Cup five times (2003, 2008, 20 15, 20 17, 20 19).

Until 1998 World Cup, it failed to advance from the group stage. However, it has become a frequent visitor to the World Cup, and its performance and status in Asian football are good.
