What are the names of each of the 108 Lohan

There are only eighteen Lohan, there is no talk of 108 Lohan. The 18 Lohan's introduction is as follows:

1. Sitting Deer Lohan - Venerable Bindu Luodu Trevor Abhakt

This Lohan was originally a minister of King Yudhoyan of India, who was powerful in his own country, but he suddenly set his heart on becoming a monk. King Yudhishthira personally invited him to return to his official position, but he was afraid of the king's nagging, so he retreated to the mountains to practice Buddhism. The king later came out to receive him at the palace, saying that the country was still waiting for him, and asked him if he would come back to be an official. He used all sorts of metaphors to illustrate the repulsiveness of all kinds of desires, and in the end, the king abdicated his throne and followed him to become a monk.

2. Joyful Lohan - Venerable Kanojadaikyo

Joyful Lohan was one of the ancient Indian masters. He always smiled when he spoke and debated, and was famous for his joyful arguments, so he was called Joyful Lohan, or Joyful Lohan.

3. The Bowl Lohan - Venerable Noga Vrindavana

Venerable Noga Vrindavana was originally a Buddhist monk. His method of begging for food was different, and he held up an iron bowl to beg for food, and after he became a monk, the world called him "Lohan with a bowl". After he became a monk, the world called him "Lohan". He benefited the world by holding the bowl, planted blessings for all living beings, and preached the Dharma for them, teaching all living beings by his body and words. 

4. Tathagata Lohan - Sopitaka

This Lohan, Sopitaka, was the last disciple of Buddha Shakyamuni. He cultivated to the five divine powers, and also practiced non-non-thought and non-thought fixation. He carried the pagoda with him in honor of his master as a sign of the Buddha's constant presence.

5. Meditation Lohan - Nojilo

Nojilo can be translated as Hercules, this Lohan was a powerful Lohan, originally a warrior with great strength, who later became a monk and cultivated the right fruits. His master taught him to meditate and to give up the idea of fighting and killing that he had when he was a warrior, so he still showed the physique of Hercules when he was meditating.

Trekking the three words, meaning the translation is virtuous, but this Lohan named trekking, is another reason. It turns out that there is a rare tree in India named Tremendous. His mother was pregnant and in labor, was in the trekking under the tree gave birth to him, so he named him trekking, and will send him to the temple door to become a monk. He traveled by ship from India to Java, one of the East Indies, to spread the Dharma, and was therefore called the Crossing Rohan.

7. The elephant-riding Lohan - Venerable Kalika

The elephant is a symbol of the Dharma, and is a metaphor for the elephant's great power, endurance, and ability to achieve far-reaching results. Kali Karma was originally an elephant tamer who became a monk and practiced Buddhism, hence the name of the elephant-riding Lohan.

8, laughing lion Lohan - Vajara Vedanta

Laughing lion Lohan body strong, dignified and dignified. It is said that because he never killed in the past life, widely good karma, so the life of no disease and pain, and has five kinds of immortality of the blessings. Therefore, he was also called "Vajrazi" and was highly praised and respected by the people. Although he had such powers, he practiced diligently, often sitting in meditation all day long and remaining motionless. His Holiness often carried a small lion with him, so the world called him "Laughing Lion Lohan".

9, happy Lohan - Shubojia venerable

He was the crown prince of the king of Zhongtianlan, the king made him the crown prince, and his younger brother was in rebellion, he immediately said to his brother, "You become the emperor, I will go to the monastery." His brother did not believe him, and he said, "I have only Buddha in my heart; if you don't believe me, look!" Strangely enough, he opened his clothes, and his brother saw that there was indeed a Buddha in his heart, and thus believed him and stopped rebelling.

10, the tanban luohan - half toga venerable

Half toga venerable is said to be the son of the medicine fork god half Chia-luo. He is known as the "hand-searching Lohan" because when he meditates, he often uses the "half-toka" method, which involves placing one leg on top of the other, i.e., the single-knee method, and when he finishes meditating, he will raise both hands and breathe out a long breath.

11. Contemplative Lohan - Venerable Father Luo

Contemplative Lohan contemplates and meditates, and in contemplation, he realizes everything that is common to the world. In contemplation, he is able to know what others do not know, and in practicing, he is able to do what others are unable to do. His contemplation is the acquisition of wisdom and action. 

12, digging the ear Lohan - Naga Hinoana venerable

Naga translated as the Chinese name for the dragon, Hinoana translated as the army, Naga Hinoana that is the meaning of the army of the dragon, a metaphor for the power of the law, such as the army of the dragon. This Lohan lived in India on the mountain of Half Dupo. He was also a theorist, famous in India for his treatise on the Ear Roots.

13. Bukkhu Lohan - Venerable Indra

Indra is said to have been a snake catcher in India, who caught snakes for the convenience of pedestrians to avoid being bitten by snakes. After catching a snake, he pulled out its poisonous fangs and released it in the mountains, and then he cultivated himself with good intentions. His cloth bag was originally a bag for carrying snakes.

14. Banana Lohan - Varnabas Zun

Legend has it that when he was born, it was raining heavily, and the banana tree in the picture at the back of the picture was being rustled by the heavy rain, so his father named him Rain. After he became a monk, he attained the fruit of Rohan, and it is said that he was fond of practicing under the banana tree, so he was named Basho Rohan.

15. Long-browed Lohan-Ashido

This Lohan was born with two long white eyebrows. It turns out that he was also a monk in his previous life, because he practiced until he was old, his eyebrows fell off, and he shaved off his two long eyebrows, but he still couldn't achieve the right result, so he was reincarnated as a human being after his death.

Note tea half Tuojia, one of the Buddha Shakyamuni close disciples, he went to all parts of the world, and often used his fist to call the house out of the people to give alms.

17. The seventeenth of the Eighteen Lohans, namely, "Venerable Gaya," was appointed by Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. According to the Dharma Residence Records, the above sixteen Lohans are the sixteen great disciples of the Buddha, and the Buddha ordered them to reside on the earth and spread the mercy of all sentient beings.

18, the tiger Luohan - Maitreya venerable

The legend says that outside the temple where the tiger venerable resides, there is often a tiger growling because of hunger, the tiger venerable divided his meal to the tiger, and for a long time the tiger was subdued by him, and he often played with him, and so he is also known as the "tiger Luohan".
