What are the schools of Buddhism?

There are five sects of Buddhism in today’s world:

One: Han Buddhism, divided into eight sects: Tiantai Sect (Qiantian Department), Pure Land Sect (Kundi Department), and Vinaya Sect (Zhenlei Department), Zen Sect (Xunfeng Department), Sanlun Sect (Kanshui Department), Weishi Sect (Lihuo Department), Huayan Sect (Genshan Department), Tantric Sect (Duize Department).

Second: Tibetan Buddhism is divided into four sects: Gujiu Sect (Red Sect), Sanhua Sect (Flower Sect), Koubai Sect (White Sect), and Shangui Sect (Yellow Sect).

Three: Southern Buddhism, divided into ten sects: Great Temple Sect (Sri Lanka), Relic Sect (Sri Lanka), Meng Sect (Sri Lanka), Shanfa Sect (Myanmar), Ruiqin Sect (Myanmar), Meng Sect Dzong (Myanmar), Fenshuo Dzong (Thailand), Dharma Dzong (Thailand), Yingying Dzong (Cambodia), Dabu Dzong (Laos).
