Interpersonal communication network

Interpersonal communication network is a model of a certain communication state formed between people who exchange information with each other. In complex social communication, one can be in various interpersonal communication network modes. In order to measure the influence of different communication methods on solving problems, foreign scholars conducted an experiment and set up four interpersonal communication networks between people, namely, ring network, chain network, ya network and wheel network. The small circle in the picture above represents the group members who participate in the exchange activities, and represents the two-way communication relationship between members. It can be seen that each member plays a different role in communication activities, and these four networks have different functions in solving problems. In the ring network, members of the group have equal status, which is conducive to mobilizing everyone's enthusiasm and suitable for solving complex problems, but the efficiency is not high. In the other three networks, group members are obviously unequal. Therefore, their shortcoming is that it is not conducive to giving play to and mobilizing the enthusiasm of all members. Their advantages are: fast propagation speed and high efficiency in solving simple problems.

Formal social organization

In the formal organization of society, information is transmitted along the top-down pyramid network, and the feedback of information is also reported step by step. This kind of network is conducive to strengthening leadership and unifying actions, but it often leads to randomness and information distortion. See the figure below:

CI propagation process

In the process of CI communication, how to design the best interpersonal communication network in formal social organizations and realize fairness and efficiency at the same time is indeed a problem that needs our serious consideration. From the inside of the enterprise, the spread of CI is a continuous and repeated process. The top-down interpersonal communication network can transmit information through documents, instructions, plans, indicators, meeting memos and other forms. You can also feedback information through reports, summaries, reflections, etc. Fairness is reflected in the fact that members of each organization have the same communication rights and status and are committed to CI communication to the maximum extent. Efficiency is reflected in the improvement of communication efficiency and speed, which can accurately transmit CI information. The prevailing principles are: giving priority to efficiency and giving consideration to fairness.

It should be pointed out that informal communication within enterprises is often more powerful than formal communication. Usually there are several kinds of people in an enterprise. One is "touting" and "small broadcasting"; The second is "veteran" and "old master"; Third, the small head of informal groups; The fourth is the leader's "red man" or friend; Fifth, frequent contact with the secretary of the leadership. They are the most active factors in the informal communication of enterprises, and spontaneously form the informal communication network of enterprises. CI communication within enterprises can skillfully use these networks, spread CI information through these networks, understand the problems existing in CI communication, and even consciously disclose some CI information, which will be spread spontaneously by them, thus controlling public opinion and expanding the communication effect. But at the same time, we should also prevent and suppress the negative effects of informal communication, consciously guide and indirectly regulate it, and let those private conversations, gossip, road news and so on spread positive information conducive to the implementation of CI.
