Sinopec: transportation energy to oil and gas, hydrogen fusion reconstruction, has built 98 hydrogen refueling station

It is reported that the mainland's new energy vehicles are booming, with production and sales ranking first in the world for eight consecutive years, and entering an explosive period of scale expansion, with 6,887,000 new energy vehicles sold last year, and a penetration rate of more than 25 percent. It is expected that in the next 5-10 years, the process of electrification, interconnectivity, digitization, and greening will be accelerated in the mainland's automotive industry, and the transportation energy system will be reconfigured from traditional oil and gas dominated, to the fusion of oil, gas and hydrogen.

New energy vehicles are an impact and an opportunity for the traditional energy industry. Sinopec's existing network of more than 30,000 gas stations has the advantage of being able to continuously meet the needs of future clean and smart travel after the transformation. Ma Yongsheng introduced that by the end of 2022, Sinopec has laid out more than 2,200 charging and switching stations, built 98 hydrogen refueling stations, and its development goal will be more than 30,000 gas stations, built into a comprehensive service network of refueling, refueling, charging, switching, hydrogen refueling and so on.

Currently, hydrogen energy, automotive lightweight and battery materials and other key core technologies still need to be tackled, Sinopec has set up a key laboratory of hydrogen energy, launched a major scientific and technological project of hydrogen energy, to take the industry-university-research and use of synergistic way of operation of the large corps, to accelerate the production of hydrogen, storage, transportation and refueling of hydrogen industry chain breakthroughs in the core technology.

In terms of green hydrogen preparation, Sinopec expects to put into operation the largest 20,000-ton/year Kuqa demonstration project at the end of this year, and in addition, Sinopec is laying out a number of green hydrogen projects in Ordos, Ulanqab, Baotou, Zhangzhou, Hainan Yangpu and other areas. In terms of hydrogen pipeline construction, Sinopec is studying the layout of the demonstration project from Ulanchab in Inner Mongolia to Yanshan Petrochemical in Beijing.
