The appellation of ancient ethnic minorities

Yi nationality is a disparaging term for different ethnic groups in the East by the ruling class in ancient China, and also refers to ethnic minorities in general. In ancient times, the northern minorities were called Di, the southern minorities were called Man, the western minorities were called Rong, the northwest minorities were called Hu, and the Qin and Han dynasties were called Xiongnu. Xiongnu was a nomadic people in northern China in ancient times, and there was no writing. Huyuan was a self-proclaimed nomadic people in the North during the Qin and Han Dynasties. After the Xiongnu became strong, Hu replaced the name of the Northern Emperor, and Hu people became the popular appellation of the northern minorities.
