How to measure the height of a mountain

Below 3000 meters above sea level, the atmospheric pressure drops by about 1 kPa for every increase of 100 meters. As long as the air pressure of the peak is measured, the approximate height of the peak can be calculated;

2, water boiling point measurement method, the boiling point of water is related to atmospheric pressure, you can indirectly calculate the height of the mountain, because the altitude increases, the atmospheric pressure decreases, and the boiling point of water decreases. At standard atmospheric pressure, the boiling point of water is 100 degrees Celsius. When the boiling point of water decreases by 1 degree Celsius, the atmospheric pressure decreases by about 3 kPa, and the altitude increases by about 300 meters, it can be calculated from the boiling point of water by comparison.

3. Leveling is a method to measure the height difference between different points on the ground by using instruments that provide horizontal line of sight, and calculate the height accordingly. It is also one of the most accurate measurement methods in the world at present. Leveling must have an initial datum point, such as the elevation fundamentals of Qingdao, China as the first point, and then set up a second point at a certain distance. Place a level between two points, observe the level ruler erected at two points, and get the height difference between two points according to the reading of the ruler.
