Model essay on gratitude and filial piety in Dragon Boat Festival

Thanksgiving Dragon Boat Festival

Father is our strong backing; Mother is our refuge. Because of them, our life will be safe, comfortable, colorful and carefree.

Once, because of them, we thrived under the encirclement of love. Nowadays, with the passage of time, the strong backing has gradually "rusted" and the refuge harbor has shrunk. As children, we really should do some filial piety for our parents.

In life, be grateful to your parents anytime and anywhere. I still vaguely remember the Dragon Boat Festival last year-

In order to remind my parents, I coaxed them into the street early in the morning. Then I put on my apron at home alone and started to act. Take out the secret weapon I prepared a week ago from the drawer-a piece of paper full of words. Don't underestimate this little piece of paper. I spent two days asking my friends and classmates how to make zongzi.

According to the method written on the paper, I first picked the leaves from my grandmother's house, washed them and cooked them in a pot. The paper says that you must grasp the time and temperature when cooking, and you can't cook the leaves. So I watched it in front of the pot for ten minutes. Don't underestimate these ten minutes. It's really not easy for me as an ADHD teenager.

When the leaves are ripe, take them out and put them in a pot. Put some cold water on them, and it's done. Next is-take the paper and have a look at it quickly. Oh, it is to prepare important ingredients: soak glutinous rice and buy candied dates. Soaking glutinous rice is very simple: wash the glutinous rice first, and then put some water on it. When I have time to soak rice, I ride my bike to the store. As soon as I entered the store, I ran to the place where candied dates were sold. After a long time of screening, I finally bought a packet of carefully selected candied dates to go home.

When I got home, I started the most important process-making zongzi.

According to the instructions on the paper, I first put a clean and flat board on the chair, and then spread the leaves on it one by one. A zongzi can use 5-6 leaves. After I spread the leaves out, I intend to roll them into a cone, but I can't roll them beautifully. I read the instructions carefully, and it turns out that the tips of the leaves should overlap so that they can be wrapped. I made one, and it was well wrapped. In this way, a basically qualified zongzi model has been formed. Then I grabbed a handful of glutinous rice and put it in, and finally I stuffed two candied dates. I wrapped it carefully, but two corners of the rice leaked out. No, I can't wrap it any more. In this way, I tried many times and finally made a zongzi that I was basically satisfied with. In this way, I was reborn and cooked again, and the speed of making zongzi was also fast.

I put the wrapped zongzi into the pot to cook, and soon, a pot of delicious zongzi came out. "Jingle, Jingle ..." At this moment, the doorbell rang, and I think my parents must have come back. I quickly packed my things, put some zongzi in the bowl and put them neatly on the table.

"Mom and Dad, are you back?" "Why don't you open the door now? Have you done anything bad? " My mother asked me when she came into the room. I shook my head hard. "No," I grabbed my parents' hands and pulled them onto the table. "Mom and dad, you were laborious. Look, I can help. I have grown up. " Then I brought zongzi to my parents. "Really, this-did you wrap it yourself?" Mother's voice choked. Somehow I hugged my mother, and she held me tightly in her arms. At that time, I only felt that I was the happiest person in the world.

That Dragon Boat Festival made me feel the joy and happiness of gratitude. I don't think gratitude lies in special moments. As long as we have a heart, there are many opportunities around us. With a grateful heart, there will be ripples of love around you.
