The original design name is Xiangyang Dongjin Station.

On July 30, 2019, the original design name was Xiangyang Dongjin Station, which was later renamed "Xiangyang East Station". Xiangyang East Station is one of the largest high-speed rail stations built in one go in a non-provincial capital city in China.

Architectural Design

Design Concept

The station building of Xiangyang East Railway Station is grand and atmospheric, with the "Kui Long Wen" of the Han Dynasty as the styling theme, which signifies the "Town of Crouching Dragon". Xiangyang East Railway Station The Xiangyang East Station building evolved from the traditional "I" plan, and combined with the station building's overall streamlined body, it creates the architectural intention of "two banks of a river", which is very distinctive.

The broad overall eaves outline the contour line, forming a "gray space" that protects from wind and rain, and creates a towering atmosphere and a grand and complete architectural image, naturally reflecting the design concept of "Gate of Xiangyang". The light roof in the center of the station pours down and extends with the main entrance canopy in one go, naturally meeting with the outer arcs on both sides to create the outline of the traditional Chinese roof, which is a modern expression of this ancient city with a profound history and culture.

The Xiangyang East Railway Station has a total building area of 222,600 square meters, of which 80,000 square meters are for the station building. The total land area of the hub supporting project is 30.72 hectares, of which 21.5 hectares are within the red line of the railroad and 92,200 square meters are used outside the red line of the railroad.
