How did the ancients divide it? What is the system of their separation?
The separation system originated in Qin Xiaogong in the third year of Qin Dynasty, that is, in 359 BC, Shang Yang put forward a separation order in the political reform, forcing separation and dividing a large family into small families. Each household is required to have only one able-bodied man in the household registration book. If the number exceeds the specified number, the tax paid will be doubled. In the later period, in order to solve the phenomenon that landlords are not separated from their families, it is proposed that if separation from their families is illegal, once found, women and children of family members will be deprived of civilian status and become slaves. Later, the tradition of separation has been handed down. Second, parents are masters and share property equally.
When parents are alive, parents should be the owners who share the existing property equally, and every child gets the same property. Among them, the most typical is the separation law of Lu Jia in the Western Han Dynasty. As a subordinate of Liu Bang, Lu Jia took out half of his reward and gave it to his five sons equally when he was old, so that he could start his own business and told the children to treat themselves well and drink well. If he dies in someone's house, the rest of the property will go to him. Third, the daughter has no right to share the inheritance.
As the saying goes? Marry a girl, splash water? In ancient times, after the son inherited the property, the daughter had no inheritance right. My daughter got a dowry from her family before she got married. This is the only time her family has given her a fortune, but it is a dowry, which does not mean separation. In ancient times, the amount of money given determined the position of a daughter in her husband's family. Zhuo Wenjun refused to listen to his father's arrangement and insisted on eloping with Sima Xiangru. In a rage, the father didn't give his daughter a dowry. Later, he saw that his daughter had a really hard life and reissued the dowry.
