Does Cantonese Opera include Chaozhou Opera?

Not included. Cantonese opera and Chaozhou opera are two traditional operas in Guangzhou. Cantonese opera does not include Chaozhou opera. Cantonese Opera is the largest local opera in Guangdong Province, and it is popular in Guangdong, Cantonese-speaking areas of Guangxi, Hong Kong, Macao and overseas places where Cantonese people live together. Chaozhou Opera originated in Chaoshan, Guangdong Province, and was a branch of Southern Opera in Song and Yuan Dynasties. It evolved from the Southern Opera in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, and mainly absorbed the characteristics of Yiyang Opera, Kunqu Opera, Bangzi and Pihuang.
