What kind of love does a child need? Japanese circular kindergarten interprets love with architecture! Refresh the concept of parenting
Why cute? This round kindergarten is unique and interesting. There are no doors, no walls, no traditional partition classrooms. Children can play on the big round roof. There are three big trees in the classroom passing through the roof.
Why do designers design such a "strange" kindergarten? After careful analysis, we will find that there are many commendable educational ideas, and a kindergarten director is full of infinite love and respect for children.
The reason why buildings are designed as circles is that human beings are full of complex about circles and like to run in circles, which is also the reason why school runways are basically round. Moreover, the director of this kindergarten wants to use the roof as a runway, activity and play area for children, which is also the original intention of circular building design.
Why do children play on the roof? It seems unnatural, and I didn't explain it in my speech, but after listening to the speech, I analyzed that this is the educational philosophy of the director: respect for nature and provide environment. Children's nature is like exploring and full of curiosity. The roof is generally a place where children have never been and are not allowed to go, so they are full of yearning for the roof. Playing on the roof can satisfy children's desire for exploration and curiosity. The roof can also provide children with different perspectives to observe the world. Children's height is limited, and they need to look up in most cases in life. But on the roof, it's different. He can overlook the world (the playground is oval, the slide is not so high, the leaves are beautiful, the teacher's head is so long ...). This visual difference will make children have a fuller understanding of the surrounding environment and things, which is even more intangible. What is commendable is that some people are willing to provide children with such an environment that carries different experiences.
At the beginning of the design, the director boldly proposed to Tezuka Guiqing that the roof (children's activity area) should not be fenced. Yes, that means there should be no protection (cold sweat)! However, after being denied, the director boldly suggested that if protection is needed, some protective internet cafes should be added around, and if the child falls, he can catch it with a protective net (so exciting, imagine trampoline)! However, the director once again denied that the local government did not allow it for security reasons. Finally, a fence was erected around the circular roof, but it did not block the children's sight.
Why doesn't the director want to put protection on the roof? Aren't you afraid of children falling from a height? Or are Japanese children not as delicate as China children? In fact, this is another idea of the director: he thinks that children should be exposed to certain dangers, and only in this way can they know how to protect themselves and how to survive better in the future. At the same time, the director thinks it is good to let the child get a little injury. There are some risks in letting children play in the kindergarten in a 5-meter-high annex. Designers believe that children will know how to help each other better after being exposed to some risks.
This shows the concept of safety education in Japan. Instead of eliminating and avoiding risks, they live with risks and teach children how to identify risks and how to deal with risks in risks. Once children are aware of the risks and master the coping methods, they will pay special attention, be careful and protect themselves better. A little injury will make children understand the consequences of adventure and fully realize how to play safely. I believe that such frustration education from an early age will also make adults stronger and know how to survive better in the competition (of course, don't stick to the suicide rate in Japan).
The fundamental reason why Japanese educators let their children go is trust. This concept is like Reggio Kindergarten's preference for glass objects, such as cups for children. Reggio educators fully believe that children have the ability to use these items and will not break them easily. Of course, before using it, the teacher teaches the child clear action essentials and precautions, and then lets go and fully trusts the child. As a result, only a few children break cups every year, which may be because they believe in the power of children. Do you dare?
There are no boundaries inside and outside this kindergarten, and there are no boundaries between classrooms. Instead, some square wooden boxes are used as a way of natural separation, so that teachers and children in other classes can be heard at any time during class. Why is this design?
Designers believe that children are more likely to be nervous in a quiet environment. Since the primitive society, people's habits in the jungle should not put an end to noise. Indeed, the children in this kindergarten are more lively and informal in class. Surprisingly, they have better concentration.
I think this is also the wisdom of the director. In a noisy classroom, if the teacher wants the children to pay more attention to the class, then his courses must be more lively and interesting to attract the children's attention, otherwise the children will run away and go to more interesting classes (which is allowed), which virtually strengthens the quality of the courses; At the same time, if children want to keep up with the teacher's rhythm, they should listen wholeheartedly and actively participate in the interaction, so that their concentration will be better.
The enlightenment of this educational idea is like China's quiet and far-reaching thought of "listening to things outside the window and reading only sage books". Perhaps the cultivation of concentration should not only rely on providing an external quiet and undisturbed environment, but also the firm persistence in the heart and strong interest in things are the basis for shaping strong concentration.
Three big trees pass through the roof and grow in the classroom. Children often crawl around the trunk and play in the protective net of the roof and trunk. This harmonious scene is precisely people's respect for nature, which will subtly convey the awareness of caring for and protecting nature to children. Some education is really unintentional, but it is integrated into daily life and becomes a habit!
There is at least one skylight above each classroom. Their biggest function is not to provide natural light, but to leave a "passage" for Santa Claus. If there is no skylight, children will think that Santa Claus can't enter the classroom. The biggest function of this window is not so much to satisfy children's rich imagination as to put wings on children's beautiful childhood hopes.
Respect for nature will naturally give back to clear water, blue sky and fresh air; Respect children's seemingly absurd fantasies, children's hearts will be full of love and hope, and they will find a sense of strength to be understood and supported! Respect is the best emotional connection!
The importance of sports to the healthy development of children's body and mind is self-evident. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that children should spend at least two hours in outdoor sports every day. In this kindergarten, there is no need for teachers to supervise sports and running. A little boy can reach 6000 meters in just 20 minutes, and the average distance of other children in the park can reach 4000 meters every day, showing better sports ability than children in other places.
The director said: We never urge outdoor sports, as long as we put them on the roof, just like herding sheep, they will keep running.
In fact, this just shows that in education, children's self-motivation cannot be stimulated by examinations, material incentives, ranking comparisons, etc. First of all, we should find the right incentive factors, then provide an effective environment, and finally let go of the trust and uncontrolled children. If children want to fall in love with reading, they must first find out the fields that children are interested in and find the pleasure of reading from books in the fields of interest; If you want children to enhance their social skills, you might as well find out what children are good at, create an environment for children to fully interact with others, and experience the joy of sharing and cooperation in what they are good at. The cultivation of internal driving force, parents are kindling, and children need to be ignited, not pushed.
No kindergarten is perfect, and any educational concept needs us to look at it objectively and learn from it. Different environment, system and resource allocation will lead to different ideas and methods of family education.
If we don't have a satisfactory kindergarten around us, or we can't send our children to the ideal kindergarten, don't be disappointed. We can completely implement the educational methods and concepts we recognize in family education, and form a benign complement with the kindergarten education where children are now.
Family education should be the main battlefield of children's education, and I wish every parent can find and give their children the love they really need, so that our children can get more nourishment, have more strength in their hearts, and grow up freely and happily in love and hope!
If you like my opinion, please pay attention and leave a message for interaction! I will continue to share more ideas and methods of family education for you!
