Brief introduction of Sino-German Law School of China University of Political Science and Law

The purpose of establishing Sino-German Law School is to promote and strengthen the contacts, exchanges and cooperation between the legal circles of China and Germany and the European Union in legal education, legal research and legal system construction, actively promote and practice the dialogue between China and China under the rule of law, and strive to seek useful experience for perfecting German laws, so as to promote the development of China's legal system and the construction of a country ruled by law.

Sino-German Law School mainly trains middle and senior professionals who can deeply understand and study the comparative law, public law and private law of Germany and the European Union. Postgraduates should cultivate excellent personality and civic responsibility, establish good professional concept and scientific spirit, and have compound, export-oriented and innovative teaching and research ability and practical work ability.

At present, Sino-German Law School recruits full-time and part-time graduate students who are studying for doctoral and master's degrees in comparative law at home and abroad. In September 2004, the first batch of graduate students enrolled. The research direction of doctoral degree in comparative law is comparative law method, comparative legal system, civil law system and common law system, and the main professional courses are basic theory of comparative law and special research on legal system of two major legal systems. The research direction of the master's degree is German law and EU law, and the main professional courses are introduction to comparative law, German civil law, German commercial law, German property law, German debt law, German constitution, German administrative law, German criminal law, German criminal procedure law, German civil procedure law, introduction to EU law, German and European economic law, etc. In addition, the college also accepts on-the-job employees from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and foreign countries for non-academic professional training according to academic year (term) or course.

There are 15 professors, associate professors and part-time students in distinguished professor of Sino-German Law School, who undertake the teaching and training of doctoral and master students, including 8 doctoral supervisors and 13 master supervisors, all of whom have academic backgrounds of studying and giving lectures in Germany or other European countries, as well as rich teaching experience and scientific research results; Teaching and research fields involve philosophy of law, jurisprudence, sociology of law, human rights law, constitutional law, administrative law, civil and commercial law, intellectual property law, environmental law, procedural law, European Union law, international law and so on. In addition, according to the cooperation agreements with Freiburg University, Frankfurt University, Munich University, Hamburg University and Cologne University in Germany, the participating German universities send two professors and scholars to teach in the college every semester, * * * participate in the teaching and training of graduate students in the college, and receive 25 graduate students who have passed professional and language examinations to study for a master's degree in the German cooperation agreement university every year. Those who pass the courses and papers will be awarded a master's degree from a German university.

The current president of Sino-German Law School is Professor Mi Jian. The college has an office to handle daily affairs. The college has established a library for teachers and graduate students to use in teaching, research and study.
