1. Buddha's birthday.
The eighth day of the fourth lunar month is the day when the founder of Buddhism, Sakyamuni Buddha, was born. Legend has it that when Sakyamuni was born, Kowloon spat water to bathe him. Therefore, on this day, people bathe the Buddha with various spices and offer sacrifices to the Buddha with various incense and flowers. The Buddha's Birthday Festival is also called the "Bathing Buddha Festival", and the "Water Splashing Festival" in Yunnan, China is derived from the Bathing Buddha Festival.
