The Mines of Death:Once the premier gold-producing region of humanity, the Mines of Hope were abandoned when the Horde swept through Stormwind during the First Great War. Now the Brotherhood of Defia has taken over and turned this dark passageway into their sanctuary. Rumor has it that the thieves have persuaded the clever goblins to help them build something terrible in the depths of the mine - but no one knows if this is true or not. Rumor has it that the entrance to the Mines of Death is in the peaceful town of Moonbrook

The Cave of Woe:A dark elf druid named Nararex discovered an intricate network of caves beneath the barren lands. This place, known as the "Wailing Cave", has so many gaps in the steam that when the steam is blasted it makes a sound like a wail, hence its name. Nararex can use the hot springs in the cave to restore the ecology of the Barren Lands and bring them back to life - but to do so, he needs to absorb the energy of the legendary Emerald Dream. Once connected to the Emerald Dream, the druid's vision became a nightmare. It wasn't long before the Wailing Caverns began to change - the water in the caverns began to decay - and the once docile creatures began to turn into ravenous, deadly predators. Nararex himself is said to still reside in the deepest parts of this labyrinth, haunted by the edges of the Emerald Dream. Even his former attendants are corrupted by the nightmares their masters experienced - they have all been transformed into evil, sharp-toothed druids.

The Dark Abyss:The Dark Abyss, located on the shores of Zoram in the Grey Havens, was once built in honor of the dark elf moon god Elunir. However, during the Great Blast, the temple took a great hit then sank into the sea. It remained intact - until, that is, the ancient power it contained attracted Naga and Sartre. Legend has it that the ancient monster Akumel resides in the temple ruins. As one of the Ancient One's favorite pets, Akumel has lived in the area to hunt. Attracted by Akumel, a group of worshippers known as the Hammer of Shadowlight have also gathered here to engage in nefarious deeds

Castle of Shadowtooth:In the Third War, the mages of Chirinto fought the undead apocalypse to the death. When the mages of Dalaran were eventually killed in battle, their will was transferred to the resurgent Undead Scourge and reborn. Frustrated with the slow progress (and ignoring the advice of his men) Archmage Arugau chose to summon creatures from otherworldly dimensions to bolster Dalaran's dwindling power. Alugo's summoning brought ravenous werewolves to the continent of Azeroth. These ravenous wolf-like creatures not only slaughtered the Undead Skylanders, but quickly turned their sights on the mages. Those werewolves began to lay siege to Baron Silvaleon's castle. The castle, located in the village of Burning Wood, soon became a gathering place for the forces of darkness and has been abandoned ever since. Guilty of his sins, Alugo claimed the werewolves as his children and lived in seclusion in "Shadowtooth Castle". It is said that he still lives there, protected by his giant pet Fenrús, and that the vengeful ghosts of Baron Valain still haunt the castle

Normorigen: The technological marvel of Normorigen, located in D'Amoreau, has been the home of the gnomes for generations. Recently, a group of evil mutant ogres have invaded various parts of Danmoro, including the main gnome city. In a desperate attempt to take out the invading ogres, Grand Artificer Mercator ordered the city's emergency radiation tanks to be turned on. The gnomes searched for a way to escape the radiation while waiting for the palate eaters to die or escape. Unfortunately, although the palate-eating monsters were infected with toxicity after being irradiated - their attacks did not stop, nor did they weaken in the slightest. Those infused that were not killed by the radiation were forced to flee, and they found shelter in the nearby dwarven city of Ironforge. Grand Artificer Mekatok assembled a think-tank to deliberate a plan to reclaim their beloved city. Legend has it that Grand Artificer Mekatok's once most trusted advisor, MacNeil Thromaplag, was sentenced to death by his people and condoned the invasion. Now, his mind, MacNeil Themaplag remains in Nomorrigan - continuing to hatch his dark plans and becoming the city's new tech lord

Ordaman:Odaman is a y buried city left behind by the ancient Titans at the time of their creation. Dwarven expeditions have recently discovered this forgotten city, awakening one of the Titan's failed creations: the Palate Eater. Legend says that the Titans created the Palate Eater from stone. When the implementation proved a failure, the Titans locked the Palate Eater away and made a second attempt - eventually creating the race of Dwarves. The secrets of the Dwarves' creation are recorded in the sophisticated Platinum Disks - large Titan ruins located at the very bottom of the ancient city. Recently, the Black Iron Dwarves have been conducting a series of incursions in Odaman in hopes of obtaining the disk for their Lord of Fire, Ragnaros. However, there are some massive stone guards in this underground city that will attack any intruder. And the Platinum Disc is guarded by a giant stone guard, Azadath. There are rumors that some of the stone-skinned ancestors of the dwarves, the earth spirits, still reside in the city's hidden places

The Rift of Wrath:The Rift of Wrath is an intricate cavern of flames that is located in the new orcish capital city of Orgrimmar. Recently, there have been rumors of a group of adherents who worship the Demon Shadow Cult occupying the Rift of Wrath. This group, known as the Fireblades, is responsible for the safety of Durontar. Many believe that Sal, the chieftain of the orcs, has realized the existence of the Fireblades and does not intend to destroy them, as Sal hopes to lure him to the Council of Shadows. Regardless, dark forces emanate from the Rift of Wrath, and they could destroy all that is Orcish

Zurfalak:The sun-baked city is home to the Sandfury Trolls, who have always been known for their ruthlessness and dark magic. Troll lore has it that a powerful weapon called the Flagellant Susas enables the weakest to defeat the most powerful of foes. Long ago, the weapon was split in half. However, there are rumors that these two halves can be found anywhere in Zulfarak. It is also rumored that a group of mercenaries sent by Garkisson entered the city and were trapped. Their fate remains unknown. But perhaps most disturbing is the fact that an ancient creature is sleeping in a sacred pool in the center of the city - a demigod that will destroy anyone who dares to awaken it

The Prison:The Prison is a well-guarded prison cell located in the Canal District of Stormwind City. Guarded by Warden Selwart, the prison is home to thieves, political prisoners, murderers, and many of the most dangerous criminals. Recently, unusual riots have caused chaos in the prison - all the guards have been thrown out and the criminals inside are free to roam. Warden Selwart tries to take control of the situation and gather brave adventurers to enter the prison to kill the mastermind of the riot, the wily Bargil Tred

Razor Heights:Razor Heights, like Razor Swamp, consists of giant vines, and Razor Heights is the traditional capital city of the Boar People. Within that intricate labyrinth of thorns reside large armies of loyal boarmen and their high priests, the Deadhead Clan. Recently, however, a shadowy force has enveloped this pristine cavern. The men of the Undead Scourge, led by the sorcerer King Armenal of Ice, have taken control of the boar clans and turned the Labyrinth of Thorns into a bastion of undead power. Now the Boars are fighting to regain their city and prevent Amonar from retaining control of the Barren Lands

Scarlet Abbey:Scarlet Abbey was once a place of honor for priests of the Kingdom of Lordaeron - a center of learning and worship of the Holy Light. With the rise of the Undead Scourge in the Third War, the serene abbey became the stronghold of the crazed Scarlet Crusade. The Crusaders have a paranoid attitude towards all non-humans, whether they are their allies or opponents. They believe that all outsiders of any kind carry the plague of the undead - they must be destroyed. There are reports that all adventurers who enter the Abbey face the Scarlet Crusader Commander Moghleni - who controls a group of fanatical crusaders. However, the true owner of the abbey is Grand Procurator Whitmayne - a crazed priest with the power to resurrect dead warriors to do her bidding

Razor Swamp:During the ancient wars of 10,000 years ago, the almighty demigod Agamagan fought a fierce battle against the Burning Legion. Though the gigantic pig fell in the battle, his efforts ultimately saved the continent of Azeroth from being coated. Though a long time has passed, giant thorny vines grow where his blood flowed. The boar men, who were believed to be the descendants of demigods, took over these areas and consecrated them. The center of these thorny lands is known as Razor Ridge. And the great Razor Swamp was occupied by an old ugly woman, Karga Prickly Rib. Under her rule, the shamanistic boar people made enemies of other clans and tribes. Some even speculate that Karga is still in league with the Undead Scourge - that she is trying to unite with them for some nefarious purpose

Maradon:Maradon is protected by the rampaging Maradon Centaurs, the holiest of all the Bleak Lands. Maradon is the great temple of Zalta, who immortalized one of the demigod Cenarius' sons. Legend says that the bastard child of Zalta and the elemental princess of the earth of Thraedus became a race of centaurs. The centaurs, a savage race, are said to have attacked and killed their father after he was born. Others believe that Thraedus trapped Zalta's spirit in her grief and hid it in a cave - utilizing its energy for some ulterior motive. The intricate underground passages of Maradon are filled with the souls of the evil centaur Khan and the elemental minions of Thraedus

The Sunken Temple:A thousand years ago, the mighty kingdom of Gulabash was destroyed by a major civil war. A group of troll priests known as the Atarai attempted to bring the ancient blood god Haka Soul Plunderer back to this world. Though these priests were defeated and eventually exiled, the great kingdom became torn apart. The exiled priests fled to the north, to the Swamp of Sorrows. They built a great temple to Haka - where they expected to bring Haka back to the world. The great guardian dragon Isla learned of Atale's plans and destroyed the temple sinking it into the swamp. Today, the sunken remains of the temple are guarded by green dragons and prevent anyone from entering or exiting. However, some of the Atalean trolls survived Isla's wrath and have dedicated themselves once again to the cause of resurrecting Haka

Blackstone Abyss:Once the great capital of the Black Iron Dwarves, this volcanic labyrinth is now home to the throne of the Flame Lords of Ragnaros. Ragnaros has found a way to use stone and design plans to create an invincible stone per capita army to help it conquer Blackrock Abyss. Even if it means defeating Nefarian and his dragonborn, Ragnaros will stop at nothing to achieve final victory

Psionic Academy:The Psionic Academy is located in the basement of the abandoned castle of Keldaron. It was once owned by the noble House Barov, but during the Second Great War Keldalon was reduced to a ruin. The mage Kelsugard often promised his followers of the Cursed God religion that they could trade their allegiance to the Lich King for eternal life. The Baroque family was seduced by Korsugard and offered the castle and its basement to the Undead Plague. Those believers then killed the Barrows and turned the basement into a psychic academy. Though Korsugard no longer lives in this basement, the fanatical believers and lecturers remain there. The powerful sorcerer-demon, Les Frostspeak, controls the place in the name of the Undead Plague - and the mortal necromancer Dark Dean Gadin is the school's evil principal

Blackstone Tower:The massive fortress deep in the Blackstone Abyss was designed by the dwarven master builder, Frankroon Cast Iron. The fortress is a symbol of dwarven power and has been occupied by the evil Black Iron Dwarves for centuries. However, Nefarian - the cunning son of Deathwing - has ulterior motives for the massive fortress. He and his legions of Black Dragons have taken over the upper Blackstone Tower and declared war on the Black Iron Dwarves who occupy the Blackstone Abyss. Knowing that the Dwarves were led by the powerful fire elemental Ragnaros, Nefarian was determined to destroy his enemies and claim Blackrock Abyss all for himself

Hammer of Doom: The ancient city of Elessaras was secretly built 12,000 years ago by a group of Dark Elven mages of the time, and it was used to protect Queen Ayshara's most precious arcane secrets. Despite being affected by the Great Shaking of the World, this great city basically stands there, and now its known as the Mallet of Doom. The ruined city is divided into three sections, each occupied by different creatures - including ghostly high elves, evil satyrs and reckless ogres. Only the bravest of adventuring parties dare to enter this shattered city and face the forces of evil in the Halls of the Ancients

Stantholm:Stantholm was once the jewel of northern Lordaeron, but it was in this city that Prince Alsatia betrayed his mentor, Uther, and massacred hundreds of his subjects who were thought to be infected with a terrible plague. Alsace submitted to the Witch-King shortly afterward. The shattered city was also overrun by the undead plague led by the sorcerer-demon Kelsugard. And a detachment of the Scarlet Crusade, which had been led by the great crusader Dashohan, also occupied part of the city. These two forces fought fiercely in the city. And those brave (or foolish) adventurers will have to face both forces upon entering Stanthom. The entire city is said to be guarded by three large psychic towers and countless powerful necromancers, banshees, and abominations. The evil Death Rider is reported to ride a skeletal warhorse - he will pour out his wrath on anyone who dares to enter the realm of the undead apocalypse

Heart of Molten Flame:The Heart of Molten Flame lies at the bottom of the Blackrock Abyss. It is the center of the Blackrock Mountains, and the place where the Dwarven Civil War was turned around so long ago that Thorisen the Great summoned the King of Elemental Flame, Ragnaros, into the world. Though the King of Flame could not stay away from the Heart of Molten Fire, it is believed that his elemental minions control the Black Iron Dwarves and raise armies beyond the ruins. The Burning Lake, where Ragnaros lies dormant, has a rift connecting the planes of fire, allowing the evil elementals to pass through. Ragnaros's prime agent is Exotus the Administrator - for this is the only cunning elemental who can awaken the King of Flames

Onyxia's Lair:Onyxia is the daughter of Deathwing the Mighty Dragon, and the sister of High King Nefarian, who specializes in intrigue in the Black Stone Tower. It is said that Onyxia likes to corrupt the human race by meddling in their politics. In order to do so he takes on various humanoid forms and uses magic and power to intervene in all matters between the different races. Some even believe that Onyxia uses the alias that her father used to use, the Royal Presto. If she is not meddling in mortal affairs, Onyxia resides in a flaming cavern in the lower Black Dragon Valley, a shadowy swamp in the Dust and Mud Swamp. The remaining members of the sinister Black Dragon Legion guard her here

Blackwing's Lair:The Blackwing's Lair, it is located at the very top of the Blackstone Tower. It is there that Nefarian carries out the final steps of his secret plan and prepares to destroy the forces of Ragnaros and finally rule all of Azeroth

Anchira's Ruins:In the final hours of the Battle of Quicksand, the allied forces of the Legion of the Four Dragons and the Dark Elves drove the battlefield to the very center of the empire of Qira, and the fae swarms of Hellsus retreated to the final bastion, the city of Anchira. But waiting within the Gates of Angela were massive numbers of Itsra Fae Worms, in numbers unimaginable to the Kalimdorian coalition. After a long battle, the Kalimdorian coalition was unable to defeat the Emperor of Qi'ra and his Fae swarms, and could only trap them within a powerful magical boundary, and the city of Angelus was left a cursed ruin as a result of the battle. Thousands of years passed, but the aggression of the Kira did not subside because of the boundary. A new generation of Fae swarms is slowly emerging from their nests, and the ruins of Angela are once again filled with Kira Fae. This threat must be eliminated, or Azeroth will likely be destroyed by this horrific new generation of Khirah forces

Temple of Ankhila:In the center of Ankhila stands a complex of ancient temples. It was built in prehistoric times to honor the great god and provide a site for the Kira hordes to flourish. Since the end of the Battle of Quicksand thousands of years ago, the twin emperors of the Khirah Empire have been trapped in the temple by the bronze dragon Anaklos and the dark elves with powerful magical boundaries. With the passage of time, the Quicksand Scepter has been reorganized, and the seals on the magical boundaries are gradually disappearing, and the path to the depths of the Temple of Anchira is once again open. The legions of Kira, trapped beneath the temple, began to prepare for an invasion. In order to prevent the Second Battle of Quicksand from erupting again and the ravenous swarms from coming back to Kalimdor, they must be stopped at all costs

Zurgrab:At last, the priests of Atalay have discovered that Haka's material form can only be summoned in Zurgrab, the capital city of the ancient Gulabash empire, where he was born. . Unfortunately, these priests have recently actually succeeded in summoning Haka - and rumors confirm that the dreaded Spirit Raider has actually appeared in the heart of the ruins of Gulabash. In order to suppress the Blood God, all the trolls have banded together and sent a squad of high-ranking priests deep into the ancient city. Each priest in the squad was a mighty warrior of an ancient god who represented the power of the bat, the panther, the tiger, the spider and the serpent, but in spite of all this the mighty Hakkar easily defeated them. Now these warriors and their ancient god are all subservient to the power of the Spirit Snatcher. If any adventurers wish to enter the Ruined Lands to challenge the mighty Hakkar, they must first defeat these high priests

Naxxramas: The floating fortress that floats above the Plaguelands, Naxxramas is the flagship of the Lich King's most powerful lieutenant, Kelsugard. From this fortress, the Lich King's minions plan a new offensive to bring panic and disaster to the entire world of Azeroth. Once again, the legions of natural disasters have begun their journey ......
