He tattooed the flower arm starting at 100,000 (Wang Lei

*Wang Lei is a famous Chinese tattoo artist, a pioneer of Chinese tattoo culture, and the manager of Lei Shi Culture

The first time I met Wang Lei in person was at the opening ceremony of his third tattoo parlor in Beijing. He was dressed in a black pullover sweater, with pigtails tied around his head, laughing and joking with a bunch of black-clad brothers, just like a cool and cute boss.

Through the conversation with him, I saw an aspiring young man through their own struggles and leveled off; see the modern society of an individual on an industry prying; but also saw his own - Wang Lei's foundation of the people.

This is the most impressive sentence in my conversation with Wang Lei.

In my opinion, successful people have one characteristic: they embrace altruism in the grand scheme of things. They start not only with a business, but also with a desire to elevate an industry or change a social issue.

Wang Lei is a good example. He spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to film a tattoo documentary in order to clear the public's misconceptions about tattoos and hope that more people can objectively understand tattoos.

"When I first came into contact with this industry, my family was strongly opposed to it, and even said I was a gangster and a hooligan."

"Because the public generally have a misunderstanding of tattoos, especially the older generation, once the movie those with tattoos of the triad people appeared much more, it is as if people think that tattoos are equal to the evil forces, it is the same as not doing the right thing."

"Such an idea is completely biased. I want to tell people that tattooing is an art, not exclusive to gangsters, it's for people with a tune."

Indeed, tattoos are an attitude, and don't mean rebellious and unruly. It's an expression and an art in itself - tattoos can be imbued with endless meanings, love for a lover, the heart's desire, extreme aesthetics, or organization and strength.

As we speak, a man with dreadlocks runs past us. He wore flat, round-framed glasses, his left shoulder resting on the shoulder of the black-clad boy in front of him, his right hand holding a skewer of lamb high in the air, and he ran around the room with a joyful smile on his face.

"He he he, that's him, before mixing with the triads, washed out after following me." Wang Lei took a sip of wine.

"His parents also called me to express their gratitude for bringing the child back."

"It was quite a relief to get a call from his parents."

During the chat you realize that Wang Lei is a man of one word. He said, Lei potential culture will host the tattoo exhibition scale to the last seven times the size of the big time, he was very happy; his own studio in Beijing roots, opened into a chain, he was very happy; development of their own company to penetrate the vertical industry more and more bigger and bigger, he is also very happy; but these are not the most happy --

"When you realize that you create new vitality in other people's lives at the same time, you will be very happy yourself."

Wang Lei lives a very real life, and he says bluntly that he seeks a sense of identity. In my opinion, he, like most people, pursues the realization of self-worth. A sense of identity, too, comes from one's own values.

But unlike most people, he started out with a big vision, dedicated to the progress and development of the tattoo industry.

He came into contact with the industry at the age of eighteen, and from nothing in the beginning to the blossoming of Lei Shi Culture, he has come a long way, one step at a time. I have a little doubt about this, he did not have a corresponding artistic background in the basis of a year into the industry, out of the single open his first studio.

"I'm curious, a year's time will make you ready and able to come out and do it alone?" I asked him.

Life only happens once, where is the time for you to look ahead. Only by taking steps can you see the road ahead more clearly.

"Doing anything is an experiment. Being able to wait until everything is ready is always just a small, small minority of cases."

"Taking the first step leads to the later path, and the point is to be willing to do it."

I've heard Wang Lei talk to his students on the phone, and it seemed to me that he was bitter. He spoke to the phone to speak, only around one sentence - "the focus is never how much better than you, not how much money a machine, but you have no willingness to study the spirit of the spirit, is you willing to drill into."

Parallel to this, he mentioned another point, the existence of Chinese tattoo artists:

With the public understanding of the tattoo industry, the public acceptance of tattoos more and more, tattoos in this line of work gradually popular. But why is it that we seldom see tattoo artists who are truly accomplished? Why are there few awesome tattoo teams in China?

" Too many people do this line of work for the industry and practice, for the hot money, not love. There is a lack of focus and a lack of cohesion."

" At its best as a team, it should be you come to me, I help you get better, and then we move forward together in unison . But the reality is that hearts and minds are the hardest thing to grasp anymore."

Can not control other people's hearts, Wang Lei is very good at grasping his own heart.

From an onlooker's perspective, I see Wang Lei as a teacher who teaches people how to fish, and a friend who treats people with sincerity.

The studio building is painted white, and from a distance it looks as if it is in the clouds.

Before you even get to the door, you can smell the aroma of grilled meat mixed with the unique smell of cumin - outside the studio door, there are a few jostling friends grilling kebabs. Stepping through the glass-encased door of the house, teenagers with headphones were playing disc jockeys, foreign boys with greasy hair were playing darts, someone was eating crabs, people in black hoodies were playing poker, and youths in jackets were sitting on swings and chatting.

"This opening party, I did not look for media reporters, invited students and friends around. Come are acquaintances. Everyone eat, drink and have fun."

Because of this party, I came into contact with an industry I didn't know much about, and I came into contact with Mr. Wang Lei.

There are a lot of people who are called "teacher" in this society, and most of the time, it's just a form of courtesy. Wang Lei really lives up to his name.

In Wang Lei, as a tattoo artist, I see a kind of focus, focus out of the height.

As a pioneer in the tattoo industry, I see a pattern, find the fulcrum, pry a whole industry.

And he as an entrepreneur, I see in him an unconvincing force.

About his story, I believe there are more details, those steps forward in the mud, or bitter sweet, or drenched in tears, have not been unearthed.

Wang Lei did not go into detail with me, just said faintly, I am a man of the past.

But I think the above is also worth recording.

Here, for every person who has a goal, who is determined, who is tough and sincere, and who has been working hard, I offer a heartfelt tribute:
