The Heavenly Sword, a domestic TV series, is directed by famous director Liu Haibo and starring actors Shao Feng and Yue Ling. It tells the story of the martial arts disputes caused by the Heavenly Sword, a strange sword in the world.

When the world was first settled by King Qin Shi Wang, he brought together five master sword makers in order to create the world's greatest sword. Just after the Heavenly Sword was released, King Qin Shi Wang was princed, and the Heavenly Sword was nowhere to be found. In the centuries that followed, there was a constant stream of killings over the Heavenly Sword.

The entire Tang family was killed for holding the "Five Dukes of the Heavenly Sword", leaving only their daughter, Tang Ruoxuan, to be rescued by Xiao Ting, a "literal sword and martial arts scholar" who had been blind since her childhood, and Ruoxuan went to her master, Master Calm, under Xiao Ting's escort. As the "Five Swords of the Heavenly Sword" can only be found when they are united, Master Calm is trying to find out the Five Swords of the Heavenly Sword with the cooperation of all the martial arts sects, in order to use the Heavenly Sword to deal with the Sect of the Blood Moon.
