What are the characteristics of the distribution of primitive human sites in China?
Hemudu site fully reflects the prosperity of matriarchal clan in primitive society of China. The excavation of Hemudu site provides extremely precious physical evidence for the study of eastern civilizations such as agriculture, architecture, textiles and art at that time, and is one of the most important archaeological discoveries in China since the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The remains of rice planting, large wooden buildings, the bones of hunted wild animals and domestic animals, the collected plant fruits and a few tombs found in Hemudu site provide extremely precious physical materials for studying the origin of ancient agriculture, architecture, pottery making, textile, art and oriental civilization in China and the evolution of paleogeography, paleoclimate and paleohydrology.
Extended data:
Hemudu site has a total area of 40,000 square meters and a thickness of about 4 meters, with four layers of culture overlapping. Among them, the age of the fourth cultural layer is one of the earliest Neolithic strata discovered in China. The third and fourth cultural layers have preserved a large number of plant remains, animal remains, wooden building remains and components, as well as thousands of pottery, bone utensils, stone tools, wood products and so on.
The remains of wooden buildings unearthed from Hemudu site are distributed along the hillside in a fractal shape of drought fan, which is very regular. This is a pillar building-a long house with a front porch aisle on the first floor. There are several rooms, the big one is about 23 meters long and 7 meters deep, and the front porch is 1.3 meters deep.
In this building, rows of piles are used to drive people into the soil as the foundation, and ground beams are erected between piles, with floors on them, about one meter above the ground; The roof truss is provoked by a central column about 3 meters in the middle of the pedestal, a back eaves about 2.6 meters high and a slightly shorter front eaves column. Many wood members in the roof truss are made of tenons and mortises, while the roof is covered with mats and foils.
