Is psoriasis harmful to the body? What are the complications of psoriasis?

Psoriasis is what we usually call psoriasis, which is a chronic skin disease. Psoriasis is difficult to cure and easy to recur, so patients with psoriasis have been looking for a radical cure. Is psoriasis harmful to the body?

1, psoriasis type

There are four types of psoriasis: psoriasis vulgaris, pustular psoriasis, arthropathy psoriasis and erythema psoriasis. Psoriasis vulgaris is the most common, accounting for more than 97% of all psoriasis patients, and other types of psoriasis are rare.

Various types of psoriasis do not exist in absolute isolation, and often cross each other with different symptoms, and sometimes different types will transform each other. After psoriasis vulgaris exists for a certain period of time, joint symptoms may appear and evolve into arthropathy, and erythroderma or pustular psoriasis may also occur due to improper treatment measures or poor stimulation.

2. Is psoriasis harmful to the body?

The vast majority of people are psoriasis vulgaris, which has little effect on the physiological function of the body, and some patients have itching symptoms. Under normal circumstances, it does not affect the overall health and life span, but only makes patients have certain psychological pressure mentally.

However, some special circumstances have a certain impact on general health:

① Arthropathic psoriasis has symptoms of arthritis, and in severe cases, joint swelling, pain, deformation and dysfunction may occur;

Erythrodermic psoriasis is a serious disease, characterized by systemic exfoliative dermatitis, fever, general malaise and other symptoms. In severe cases, it will cause systemic failure, which should be paid great attention to.

③ Some pustular psoriasis is accompanied by systemic damage, such as recurrent pustulosis during pregnancy, with poor prognosis;

④ Some therapeutic drugs have certain systemic adverse reactions, and improper handling may affect the general health.

3. Complications of psoriasis

Psoriasis is usually a disease with damaged skin. In most cases, there is no visceral disease, which will not affect the whole body health. But occasionally, a few patients may have different degrees of complications, mainly as follows:

(1) liver injury. It is characterized by abnormal liver function such as elevated transaminase and mild hepatomegaly. The cause can be the liver damage of psoriasis itself, and more is the adverse reaction of therapeutic drugs to the liver, but it is generally only temporary. Drugs affecting the liver can be stopped under the guidance of doctors for treatment.

(2) eye lesions. The proportion of psoriasis complicated with various eye diseases is about 10%, mainly including scaling blepharitis, nonspecific conjunctivitis, corneal or lens opacity, etc. When patients with psoriasis have eye discomfort or decreased vision, they should go to the ophthalmology department in time.

(3) Gastrointestinal complications. There are mainly oral mucosal psoriasis spots, chronic gastritis, ulcerative colitis and so on. Under the guidance of doctors, some drugs can be used to protect gastrointestinal mucosa and promote gastrointestinal function.

(4) Nephropathy. Some patients with psoriasis occasionally have asymptomatic proteinuria and hematuria, or glomerulonephritis and nephrotic syndrome. Its mechanism may be related to protein's abnormal metabolism of uric acid, psoriasis and immune inflammatory reaction of nephropathy.

Step 4: Skills

Most psoriasis patients are common. As long as they use drugs reasonably according to the doctor's advice, work and rest regularly, and don't eat spicy food, it is more conducive to the stability of the disease and will not cause too much harm to the body. If the symptoms worsen or recur, you must go to the hospital in time.
