Extended data
The text is excerpted from Teng's work "A Painting Famous at Home and Abroad";
In the Northern Song Dynasty, there was a painter named Zhang Zeduan. He painted a famous painting-The Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival. The painting is a lively scene of Bianjing, the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty. This painting has a history of 8900 years and has long been famous at home and abroad. Now it is completely preserved in the Palace Museum in Beijing.
Zhang Zeduan put a lot of effort into this painting. There are more than 500 people in the painting alone: farmers from the countryside, boatmen, businessmen engaged in various businesses, Taoist priests with long beards, doctors wandering the rivers and lakes, vendors, officials, scholars ... 360 lines, people from all walks of life are on it.
The painted market is really lively. There are shops with various signs on the street. Walking in the street, people come and go in different forms: some ride horses, some carry loads, some drive donkeys, some push unicycle, and some stroll leisurely in the street. Some of these people in the picture are less than an inch, and some are even as big as soybeans.
Although the people in the painting are very small, everyone can clearly see what they are doing. The most interesting scene is the scene at the north end of the bridge: a man riding a horse is walking under the bridge. Because there are too many people, we will meet the sedan chair coming from the opposite side. At this critical moment, the bridle was caught at once, which kept the horse from touching the sedan chair. Two little donkeys carrying goods next to them are going downhill, and their feet are unstable.
People standing on the railing of the bridge enjoying the scenery were disturbed and immediately turned around ... Look, how vivid the paintings painted by Zhang Zeduan are! The Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival shows us the ancient capital 8,900 years ago and the life scenes of ordinary people at that time.
