Why is China's traditional culture branded as "dross"?

As the pace of modern life is getting faster and faster, some people are tired of coping with the pressure of daily life, but they can't help but have different understandings of some traditional cultures. Many people think that some traditional cultures in China are dross and should be eliminated by the times. Because some people think that some traditional cultures cannot be compared with modern social civilization at all. However, they have this view, not only because they don't understand traditional culture, but also because of many historical factors.

First, the earliest reformists and the early New Culture Movement At the end of A.D. 19, we all know that there was a reform movement in China. Although it only lasted 100 days, it still played a certain role in emancipating people's minds. In the eyes of some early reformers such as Zheng Guanying, Confucius culture was regarded as a social moth, and the earliest decline of Kongjiadian appeared. Later, in the early New Culture Movement, there were also voices criticizing traditional Confucianism. So these are the earliest wrong tendencies that killed traditional culture with one stick.

Second, the influence of the Cultural Revolution If we now think that traditional culture is dross, then at least two thirds of it was influenced by the Cultural Revolution, because this is our latest ideological movement and the most influential one. In this cultural and ideological movement, we hold a negative attitude towards all traditional things. Moreover, in this catastrophe, many things of traditional culture have been destroyed. The most frightening thing is that most people think of traditional culture as dross.

3. Infiltration of Western ideas As we all know, apart from the misconduct of its own leading bodies, the main reason for the disintegration of the Soviet Union is the long-term peaceful evolution policy of the West towards the socialist alliance. This policy, also known as the Cold War mentality, is also a major part of social instability. However, influenced by western ideas, many people tend to become emotional and think that this is a pursuit of fashion, so their attitude towards traditional culture is often extreme. Finally, I hope everyone will remain calm and seriously analyze traditional culture. After all, it is our root, which can be pruned, but it cannot be eliminated.
